Yes I do. I'm not an idiot.

But I also know that it's not the only way to determine how valuable someone is to their team.

Goldy is going to have to get hurt at this rate to not win it.

Jose Ramirez & devers are both better offensive players

He’s not the best 3B In the game or even in the NL

How does that qualify as an mvp

Fair enough.

I just think people who use it as the sole metric for a player's value are either 1.Not watching the individual player and just looking at numbers, 2. Are nerds.

WAR is a good metric, but there are other ways/metrics to determine a player's value.

But to say that Thicc shouldn't be considered for MVP b/c he's 5th in WAR amongst NL 3B'man is what set me off. That was laughable. I notice he didn't have a retort when I posted his OPS amd OPS+ #'s.

And the fact that he is 3rd in baseball in homers.

I mean its like dude has to hit 100 homers just to be in the conversation.

It's a fricking joke. This is 2 straight years of this production. And he's doing this hitting cleanup.

WAR is good at placing players in tiers. Its not good as a black and white stat

What does that mean? It means its a pretty reliable stat at telling you someone worth 4 wins is better than someone worth 3. However, it cant tell you with much confidence that a 4.5 player is worth more than a 4.3

So yes and no. Its good at putting players in tiers. Its not good as a black and white list

What conversation do you want to have? Because statistically, he’s not better than Rafael Devers even with playing 15 more games.
