The NFL has long lost the plot.
Turning games into a rock concert / football game / cultural event is what is Turing real football fans off from the sport.
This is no different from what they have turned the Super Bowl into. All the circus bullshite of 2 weeks long hype, halftime concert, absurd commercials, has overshadowed the actual product for decades now, in an attempt to capture casuals. Dumb strategy - casuals never stick around.
I am NOT a fan of this kind of gimmicky bullshite.
Can we just watch the fricking game?

I agree but halftime shows are not going away. However, they could get better music and rotate the type.

It’s ironic the Mexico City game halftime show has a rock band that sings in English while the last Super Bowl had a rapper whose lyrics are en espanol

Rules that are clear virtue signaling since the keep expanding the schedule which they wouldn’t if the actually cared about player health and safety
So it’s all about the spectacle and event more than the game itself
The Gators have perfected this craft by making the focus of each game day the tom petty light show karaoke sing along and the game second or third on priority with non stop
Hiring of g5 coaches and going cheap on getting elite players for the roster
