et's be honest here, lebron could beat the wnba all-star team by himself

nah.. he lost to a makeshift team of guys from GQ magazine in this scenario.. regardless of men or women, he wont make every shot and cant guard everybody..

Lesbians love to talk about how MLB players can't hit the top softball pitchers.

I've heard people say before that Jennie Finch is capable of striking out Albert Pujols, not just once or twice, but on a consistent basis. The softball/baseball argument gets brought up alot by women and it's one of the dumbest sports arguments anyone can make.

Pujols would strike out damn near everytime if NCAA men pitchers could throw from 43 feet.

Straights love to talk about how softball players would have no chance of touching a Randy Johnson, in his prime, fastball either

Best HS male team would win by 20-30, IMO.

Any NFL team could field a 5-person basketball team that would easily win the WNBA by a huge margin.

I don't agree with this. The WNBA team would be very fundamentally sound and would know how to run plays and whatnot.

I have to say the male HS team would win. Unfortuantely at my school and the school my kids attended the girls went to state routinely and the boys teams sucked. The girls would beat the boys team by a huge margin if they ever played against each other but in this case the best male HS team against even the best WNBA team the guys would win out for sure.

I don't think any guy argues they wouldn't be able to make contact with the ball cause they would. But they wouldn't be able to do much else besides a foul ball off here and there.

HS by 20+. They play above the rim where women can't go.

Terrell Owens, Julius Peppers, Antonio Gates, and two random athletes from the NFL would destroy any WNBA team.

ETA: I just realized the original point was that any team could field 5 players, not just have 5 guys from the entire league.

If I get to pick any 5 people off of TD.com I bet I could pick 5 that Lebron could beat alone. If you take the 5 best athletes off the site, then I agree, but a bunch of old fat dudes won't be able to beat Lebron

No doubt. Most NFL teams have at least a couple of guys who could have been D1 basketball players but opted for football.

I'd even go so far as to say you could only select from receivers and TEs and easily field a slew of teams from the NFL that would slaughter the WNBA. They're just too physical.

They'd be 6" taller than every woman on the court and probably 50-100lbs heavier. I'd love to compare verticals

Are you kidding? I think every NBA (ETA: NFL) team could field a team that could win the NCAA men's title.

Fundamentally sound.

Yeah, they're really going to be able to do a lot when the 6' 6", 300 lb lineman backs into a dunk 100 times out of 100.

Also tennis, I don't think the best high school player could beat the best female tennis player out there either, at least no a power player like Serena

Insanity. I'd be surprised if the best Under-16 player in the country wouldn't bagel her.
