Just giving context to the question that was asked.
My thoughts.
The police were called in 2015. They were already called so how could Meyer have an obligation to call them when they'd already been called and knew about the incident? Because the police were already involved I'm not sure why it would be a Title IX issue. Then again, I'm no lawyer and I'm not going to pretend to know Title IX inside and out.
Lying about knowing? I have no idea why he wouldn't admit to knowing. It would seem that it couldn't cause him much damage if he told the truth about that. Obviously withholding the fact that he knew is going to cause damage.

There’s too much money involved for this to go ‘by the book’
I fully expect some shady shite to happen behind the scenes and for OSU to retain Meyer

If I have this correct, Brett McMurphy reported on Zach Smith's multiple domestic abuse allegations on July 22.
This forced Meyer to fire Smith on July 23 and deny his knowledge of the 2015 allegations during B1G Media Days on July 24.
Now McMurphy says he has text messages proving that Meyer lied about the 2015 allegations.
If McMurphy held back the text messages, giving Meyer just enough rope to hang himself during the predictable B1G media onslaught, I will buy him several drinks one day.

Urban knowing really isnt a big deal if the cops were made aware. If the cops were made aware and didnt do anything, Urban really cant be blamed at all because it could be assumed Smith didnt do anything wrong
However, him lying about knowing makes people now wonder did he try and payoff cops etc etc and down the rabbit hole we go
It was just colossally fricking dumb to lie

No. He was a walk-on WR at BGSU and played for Meyer

I guess it's more juicy to focus on Urban because he's the biggest domino that may fall in this scenario but jesus christ frick Zach Smith. What a monster. I feel like the media should focus way more on grilling him than Urban for reporting or not reporting what was happening.

That was my whole deal at the beginning of this thread. They want someone that’s involved as a 3rd or 4th party to be fired over ALLEGATIONS
Thats a slippery slope IMO

The players and coaches under Urban's reign throughout his career is startling in itself. Whether he was aware or not, there's been a lot of shadyness out of his programs for a good while. I cant really sit here and act surprised

You kinda missed that

That's where I am. Why lie at all? There was a police report. Courtney Smith chose not to press charges. Just say you were aware of it.

Exactly. The right answer was to admit that you knew about it and it was handled by the authorities. However, no arrests were made and charges were never filed.

Do we even know that Urban DIDN'T report the allegations to tOSU.
He could have been lying to a reporter about knowing about it, but still reported it and nothing was done.
There's really not enough to go on here...yet.

Urban has to be a sociopath of some sort. That is the only way this makes any sense to me

Lying about knowing about ALLEGATIONS?
I know it’s morally wrong, but a fireable offense?

I am amazed at jsut how dumb/narcissistic Meyer was here

He was supposed to report it to the University Title IX compliance people. His wife had a duty as well since she was employed by OSU.
OSU is trying to figure out at the moment who can be the fall guy other than Urbs. Ignoring DV issues in the current PC climate is a no no. This guy has been with Urban for a long time going back to FL and played for him at Bowling Green. It’s going to be seen as him protecting his boy.
I bet Jim Tressel has a little smile on his face today.

That’s my line of thinking.. I wouldn’t argue for/against either side, but that’s how I feel about it
