Because he's the people's champ. Everyone loves a striker. Doesn't matter how good Khabib is, there are people who will never like him because of his style, no matter how dominant he is.

I honestly feel like Khabib really grew his following with the dominant win and chaos that ensued.

Honestly, this whole mcgregor fan VS khabib fan thing is fricking weird

As someone who watches ufc just for the fights, and not the fighters, this whole rivalry thing between y’all is just weird

McGregor knows this is the way to make money. He did the same shite with Diaz. You need just as many to hate you as love you too be polarizing.

If khabib wants to make the real money he let's Conor beat him next fight then do the 3rd fight.

Do you really think that Khabib would sell out his legacy for money? The guy is a national hero. Putin just had breakfast with him. Have you been paying attention?

I think so too

If people only want to see strikes then they need to watch glory kickboxing

Lose your legacy against Tony Ferguson for 2 million or sell your legacy for 20 million?

If it's about legacy then there is no reason to rematch with McGregor.

Nobody cares about losses in MMA. As far as I know, no high level champion has ever retired undefeated... And khabib won't either.

Did Conor have a moment in the fight? Not one. Get's dropped standing, got pounded on the ground, submitted. All this and while cheating during the fight...grabbing the fence with hands and feet, grabbing shorts, gloves, kneeing opponent on the ground.

And that awesome left of his? He didn't even drop either of Khabib's corner man during the post fight melee. One was a midget. Apparently the left is dangerous to everybody except Russians.

And please stop coming back to the money. To average person, sure money is the all mighty power. Khabib is a different cat. He doesn't roll that way. To him it's god, country, family values, integrity.

I don't think it's all about the money with Khabib. I could be wrong.... but I think if he never fought again it would be ok with him.

Speaking of never fighting again, Khabib is pissed and threatening to do just that.

He absolutely did. McGregor went and talked about the dude religion, family, attacked his bus and just took it to a new level which was expected form the WWE.

Khabib just said f it lets fight and he whooped his arse. mcgregor has gotten to big for his britches and can no longer back it up. He was exposed.

For how long? Conveniently the same time it would be between fights?

I always think the same thing. How does a 6-12 month suspension hurt the guy that's fighting once or twice a year anyway?

It helps keep the lower card guys from doing multiple fights in a short time. UFC pays the lower card guys very little so a guy who just got KTFO would go fight again in a week in another promotion. So it's kind of a 'cover your arse' thing for the athletic commission.

I think the fighters doctor can overrule it. The suspensions usually state out 6 months or until cleared by a doctor. Its just a formality really.

Believe it or not, not everything is about money, especially for world class athletes

Mayweather confident that fight with Khabib will happen
Come on man. There was some appeal with Mayweather but who wants to watch these two fight in boxing?
