How many did Gretzky get in 53 games in his peak?

Wayne got whatever Wayne wanted to. He is so much better than any hockey player it isn't even funny. I'd say he is the most dominate single figure of any major sport when compared to the rest of the league. Guy scored so fricking many points..you can remove his goals from his career and he still has more points than anyone just off his assist.

have no idea who this is or what this means.

Being raised in Louisiana means we know nothing of hockey.

But I truly wish I knew more about the NHL and less about the NBA.

So you basically used a hockey thread to continue your normal shitty character takes of trashing the NBA.

McDavid is Sid's heir apparent to best player in the world.

He's gonna run away w/the MVP.

I think he took the crown last season.

Gretzky was so good he scored 50 goals in 39 games in 1981 and ended up with 92 goals and 120 assists that season. He had 200 point seasons 4 different times. We're going on about McDavid getting 100 points. The bar for Gretzky was double that.

I'd also add that we're not in some clutch and grab defensive era now. The game is highly skilled, open, and fast. Interference actually gets called. Ironically, McDavid got called for an interference penalty last night when he got caught flat footed on a play. So this isn't some "can't compare eras" thing.

Are you arguing that scoring is easier now than Gretzky's era?

I'll argue that it's not the clutch and grab, trap, dead puck era of the 90-00's.

To be fair the oilers had a roster full of hall of famers and were a dynasty back when Wayne played in Edmonton.
