Hooray for Max Muncy.

Any man, no matter how solid a pitcher, named Madison needs to just STFU.

He wasn’t even in the box that long looking at it. Madison is just being a snowflake

He honestly believes and can and should tell someone not to watch a ball he’s just hit. It’s an amazing level of self-absorption and sensitivity that these old baseball players show.

I love when dudes pimp a bomb and I think Madison is in the wrong here. But Bumgarner isn't the dude to shite talk. Dude is 6'4" with long arms and country strong af. He'd wear Muncy's arse out if shite got real.

Off-topic a bit, but Derek Dietrich is becoming the king of pimping bombs and I love it.

Bumgarner apparently started the game on the rag about something. He was about to get run by the home plate umpire before the home run for arguing balls and strikes.

he always starts on something. he pitches with a chip on his shoulder and looks to find something to get upset about whether its an opposing player or umpires. this is his MO. he was throwing a FIT in the at bat before this

Bumgarner is over it in SF. Needs a change of locale. Hopefully it's not the Red Sox or the Yankees.

I also don't understand why some players get pissy if after a batter hits a homerun he isn't sprinting around the bases but just kind of trotting

You really don’t understand why some players don’t like other players showboating?

Weird.

I look forward to him chastising young players in an Astros uniform.

I can tell I'm in the minority here but I agree with him that he should be able to be himself just as much as Muncy. The concept of a two way street is lost on most ppl tho.

Regardless of how you feel about it that kind of petty drama intrigues a lot of ppl and baseball could benefit from it the same way the NFL and NBA do.

Yes, you mentioned that. I disagree. When a guy pimps a home run, part of the reason is to needle the pitcher. It's disingenuous to not acknowledge that. The pitcher is allowed to get pissed and jaw with the hitter. I really don't see what's so strange about all this. They are competitors getting into it during a game.

The problem is, what Muncy did was far from “pimping” the homerun. Bumgarner was clearly just looking for things to bitch about from the start. I agree with the poster who said he needs a change of scenery.

quick question, has max muncy ever left the batters box, followed madison around the infield, and yelled in his face after he struck him out? do you think its totally reasonable if max muncy ever responded that way if madison ever pumped his fist and yelled after striking him out?

I'm sure he hasn't and you're right, that would be excessive. I would argue that a key difference is that the batter can immediately make his way to the dugout after he strikes out. The pitcher has to stand on the mound with his dick in his hand waiting for the batter to jog around the bases. I do see a difference and I could see that pissing someone off.

FTR, I don't "agree" with Bumgarner I'm just surprised just how negatively it's being viewed. I just don't think it's that big of a deal either way.

because he was being a total dick, like always, and muncy wasnt and that quote totally sums up his total lack of self awareness here. its not that complicated
