He did it for the oaks last year with this exact same drug. Bungled withdrawal times, which are just a guess anyway since metabolism in each horse can be different.
How often do you watch racing? Ever been on the backside? You have no clue.
The 2 trainers under federal indictment never had the horses they were caught on wiretaps drugging have those named horses fail a test. The dirty ones are using stuff they aren’t testing for yet.
It has been a very open secret baffert gives shite. See how nobody involved in racing was surprised? He had 4 positives just in the last year, 2 in grade 1 races.
If this was the first time it had happened, sure. But it is definitely not. And he’s running out of scapegoats
It doesn’t matter. Nothing will happen to him, as usual. Which is why he keeps doing it. I’m much more upset about the use of pain masking drugs than the “juice” which most casual fans think this was (it wasn’t). A hurt horse who feels no pain will keep running until it snaps a leg off.

The guy is dirty and has been allowed to get away with it in California for years. This is the same state that has Bo Derek on the Racing Commission. I hope the split test comes back positive, and that Baffert gets what is coming to him.

Well boys I had it right. After claiming that the betamethasone came from a stable hand who urinated in Medina Spirit's hay (this is completely idiotic), Honest Bob now admits that the horse was given betamethasone for dermatitis. I wasn't quite right; I said that a stable boy had used the meds for his own dermatitis. This guy should be banned from racing altogether.
