If you remember I made a post after the Ky. Derby about this scumbag, Bob BafferLet; let's see how he gets out of this one. "One of my assistants had dermatitis, and he was using betamethasone cream to treat it; obviously , this is the source of the steroid. I will appeal to the Kentucky Racing Commission. I am innocent just like the 28 prior times that my horses have tested positive." Let's see what he really says; it will be another joke.

As someone who is aware of half life’s and nanograms etc this is insignificant and I won’t be shocked if the B sample is even smaller. That small of an amount could have come from anywhere.

He’s been quite the black eye lately but still nothing will happen. Once again, I’m more troubled by the suspect ride on midnight bourbon and the immediate reward of smith by baffert with the ride on the likely Preakness winner.
And Rosario, and his reasonings for not even being in the saddle when the gates opened. Bet his connections learned a lesson about dropping the jock who won last put for the big name.

I don’t think creams are absorbed into the blood stream like an oral or an injection. I could be wrong tho.

It was a joke he was trying to make. Baffert blamed his lidocaine positives in Arkansas (from likely nerve blocking sore horses to Pass the jog) on an assistant wearing a pain patch

I just assumed horse racing is like track and field where everyone is doping. Still hard to condemn that tiny of an amount. If it was like 100mgs I could see the issue but that amount could be from tainted testing equipment on the GCMS or whatever testing equipment they use.

He has a history. And this was the only horse with a positive. And he swore in September after his oaks filly was popped with this same drug that he would clean things up.
Anybody else and this wouldn’t be in question. He’s ruined big racing for me. Big races like this are under quite the national spotlight.
