People don't get held down and gang beaten for just picking on someone.

If he got held down and gang beaten by football players he would need more than stitches. At the minimum there's some fudging in this story.

I think what is most amazing about all of this is that the Baltimore Sun actually covers Maryland football. Or that the Baltimore Sun expects you to register to read one freaking article

is pure madness. I hope multiple players receive jail time for this.

now, instead of drifting to bottom anonymously replacing Rutgers and Kansas at bottom now maryland will be lead story for quite a while until trial.

So he should have just pulled his .45 from underneath his shoulder pads and put a bullet in him, huh??

Billy Cole did it in The Last Boy Scout, so its definitely possible, if not probable.

Well everyone in media is jumping on whistleblower reaction. Not the waiting for other side to come out. So it’s just like Incognito people just jumped the gun

Even if he got beat on b/c he was being an a-hole to younger players at the end of the day you have a player getting jumped on the HC’s first day back from a suspension due to a supposed toxic culture.

Seems like those players proved the toxic part was legit.

His words do not paint a picture of being held down for the other punter, Lees, to beat him up. Instead, his own statement is that Wade and Lees were fighting when people trying to stop the fight corralled Wade first, leaving him at the disadvantage that let Lees do some damage. Now, whether the players who broke up the fight maybe were in less of a rush to grab Lees is a fair question because it sounds like the team supports Lees and thinks Barber maybe had it coming to him. That is a lot different than a pre-meditated handicap-match style beatdown.
