According to Bryan Colangelo. Says it’s unlikely he’ll play this season. Yikes that’s scary. Those videos of his new shooting form were alarming.

Does he have a brain injury? How do you forget how to shoot.

Is this the basketball version of the Yips?

amazing a basketball player drafted No.1 that has such inability to shoot... you know, that's kind of an important thing in basketball.

Currently he’s healthy. The shoulder injury caused him to rebuild his jumpshot. Basically has to learn to shoot again

he hurt his shoulder and the shoulder is a pretty important part of shooting a basketball

I've read that the 6ers have a lot to do with him changing his shot.

This will go down as one of the craziest bust stories ever.

Imagine telling someone back in June that one of the top 2 picks in the draft would undergo a complete shooting form change and possibly sit out the entire season because of it.

And it isn't Lonzo Ball

Was it a rare once in a generation type injury?

I may be naive here but I've never heard of someone having an injury and now being healthy but having to completely rebuild a jumpshot which has zero range as of now.

We were also told when he was still playing that his free throw form looked so wonky because he "literally" couldn't raise his arms above his shoulders...then we saw many pics and gifs of him raising his arms above his shoulders during play.

Being that he shot over 40% from 3 in college while taking 5 a game means he could shoot. He got hurt. Shitty situation but his draft stock was there when he could shoot.

i dont think weve ever been told what exactly the injury to the shoulder was. some people think it isnt real and that the sixers said he is hurt to keep him off the court. who knows. the latter would be completely bizzare though, having someone who was literally the most efficient scoring guard that college basketball has had since kyrie and the sixers decided they needed to do a complete overhaul

Best guess IMO there was a shoulder injury but I'd imagine the whole thing with the shot is moreso in his head than having to completely change his shot due to an injury that had him out a few months.

When’s the last time Philly hasn’t risked a top lottery pick on a draft risk via injury?

Embid is missed tons of time. So did Simmons. Okafor was just a bust

The Sixers treating the situation like it is research at Los Alamos is making it bigger. If they would ever come clean on what's going on, people would be able to actually digest this story and move on. What is the nature of the injury, when was it discovered, how did it happen, and connect it to why he has to rebuild his shot. Instead, we have to go lol look at this guy who can't shoot. What the hell happened?!?!

Personally, based on the public record, I think it is mental/yips. Why that needs to be a secret, I have no idea.

Not to mention Noel.

What is crazy is that the 76ers have drafted three players in the top 3 (Embid, Simmons, and Fultz) and I have a better chance of making an uncontested 12 ft jump shot than any of the three.
