Titus almost sounded like he got let go since he claims to not know what he’s doing next

Titus will have a job at Barstool if he wants it. He’d make great content with Big Cat, PFT, Rone, and Caleb

Maybe just regular layoffs?

If Sports Illustrated just let go 50% of their workforce how long can The Ringer last??

I don’t like it but I think we are 5 -7 years away from every major sports site just being a content farm.

Considering they're a content farm?

Pretty long.

These guys aren't long form print journalists getting let go. They're digital content creators, who just focus on a thing that's outside the scope of what the website does.

Hope he can keep doing college basketball content. I'm not a huge college basketball guy, but OSP was a good listen and Titus knows his stuff.

Think he'd need to expand a little more if Barstool were to hire him. Still on the fence about the Brandon Walker hire. College football podcast is hit or miss with me.

The Ringer doesn't have a magazine to keep afloat

The Ringer isn’t Buzzfeed or Cheatsheet or Cbr.com, at this time.

It produces much more quality content then most sites means it’s probably not long for the internet. I want it to last a long time, but look at what the new owners of Deadspin, SI and other big digital sites are moving toward.

Full-time writers on salary with benefits ain’t it.

Reap what you sow.... Whole staff at Ringer unionized and are demanding lots more money/benefits.

Management says OK, you want that shite, how about you're fired for having low performing content. Probably would have been much more willing to be kept had they not tried the union thing.

Thought ringer makeshift money from advertising on podcast while athletic makes money for charging people

Low-performing is low-performing Union or not.

Deadspin is a lot more than just that site though and the Ringer didn't lose a lawsuit for showing Hulk Hogan's sex tape.

If they make money from podcasts what's the point of ringer.com?

It's been around for awhile now so I assume it's at least breaking even, but how much of that is off the name of Bill Simmons? Grantland shut down like 4 months after ESPN let him go
