I'll date myself here but when I was growing up in majority black public schools (when Farrakhan was big) it was clear that the appeal of disliking other groups (Jewish, Asian, successful blacks, many whites) had (and has) a very strong appeal among blacks in the same way that populist demagogues appeal to other groups. There is almost nothing more appealing than blaming other people for the problems you have.
The ideals of MLK are more moral and build a decent society in which peaceful dialogue and differences can work. But the appeal of identity politics is extreme and many people lack the moral fiber to embrace politics which apply to them as equally as they apply to others. It is a golden rule for good reason.

All these people that cops killed, while I don’t agree with the cops reactions, the deceased were all committing criminal acts At the time.
