Agree with all that. But this isn’t as bad as Brees’ worst game this season.

Mahomes had TWO opportunities at the end of the game to show he's an MVP - and both times he threw inexcusable picks.

Few reasonable people will hold either against him. This place is so defensive right now.

Why would you not hold the 1st INT against him?

I find surprising and disappointing you are suggesting 1 game that’s not the even the last game, will cost someone the MVP
What are you talking about?

I didn't say it will "cost" him the MVP, I laughed at someone saying he did not "hurt" his MVP chances?

He very obviously hurt his MVP chances, you don't agree with that?

dude threw from nearly 500 yards and 6tds.

You forgot the 3 picks and 2 fumbles. One fumble resulted in a scoop and score, one resulted in a shortened field touchdown. First interception was a pick six. That is 21 points directly scored of of those turnovers. The last two picks were drive killers inside of 2 minutes left on drives intended to tie or win the game. The last on a gifted set of downs by the Rams.

Far worse

He had 5 total turnovers and 2 of his turnovers were taken to the house

Why people are overlooking that is beyond me. People have seemingly forgotten the analytics on how bad turnovers are for a team

Exactly.

People are forgetting what the MVP is. Recent history suggests it's the best player on the best team, who gives his team the best chance to win.

Mahomes was responsible for 5 turnovers, 2 for direct TD's, and threw 2 pics on his last two drives when going for the win. That is not an MVP like performance.

If the MVP was about padding stats in losing efforts, Brees would've won multiple by now.

The 1st INT at the end of the game his arm/shoulder was hit and he ended up throwing a wounded duck.

The 2nd INT at the end of the game was a poor decision and a bad throw.

Both were killers... with 1:30 on the clock and 3 TO's you can eat a sack and still get in FG range. You just can't throw the ball up in that situation.

You said in the other thread it killed his chances.

Maybe people here will disagree with me, but Brees’ game against the Vikings will probably be looked at as worse than Mahomes’ game last night.

I think the biggest thing here is that whether he hurt his chances or not, he certainly didnt help them. Its a race where Drew is slightly ahead and now gets to show his MVP status on primetime Thursday night at home vs the 1 times super bowl choke champs. Point being Mahomes choked on MNF and everyone saw. Now Drew can go off and show why it shouldn't be a question.

Guys guys guys. It was obvious what was happening. Mahomes knew he had to give turnovers to the Rams or it would be a blow out. He was just being a team player for the fans to give the game some drama but he went a little too far and got carried away.
