Other than not attending vs canceling the event, it's pretty well a wash.

Seriously though, if you don't stand for the the National Anthem of the United States of America, why would it be petty for the President of the United States of America to deny access to the White House?

While I certainly think it would be a great thing for these players to go to at least attempt a meaningful conversation with Trump over their differences, I think its silly to think this is purely politics when it comes to Trump. I also think the idea that you have to respect the office is really dumb. Respect is earned, it isn't given by a position of power.
All in all, I wish the players would go to discuss their differences with the president. But I don't blame them for exercising their right to decline an invitation. In the end, Trump is the one that comes off as a giant baby because he couldn't live with the fact that only a handful of players would actually show up.

the NFL will still be popular this year but I feel like it will bleed out slowly over the next several years.
the product has been dulled down due to concussion issues but mainly that huge lawsuit that it was hit with.
same thing I guess.
then you throw in all of this other stuff that has nothing to do with football. Left and right both taking a dump on the league for this National Anthem thing.
but I feel like the real trouble "could" be at the next collective bargaining agreement.
the way things are these days you never know what to really expect.
