i think they didnt believe trump would get invovled. which is hard to blame them honestly given i cant think of many presidents getting involved in stuff like this, however pretty short sighted given trumps general attitude and what not
they probably thought the story would die down and while not completely go away, get to a point where its not a legitimate issue and something they could handle. ultimately that was happening until trump got involved and it blew up in the NFLs face big time

I back that up with nobody really talking about the kneeling in the weeks prior to Trump's speech and that the players that were kneeling were declining.

Which shows you, that none of them were kneeling in protest of "police brutality & injustice upon black men".
If Obama would had said something along those lines, not a damn one of them would have blinked an eye in response to him.

So, that whole anthem thing in the statement yesterday...not going with that today?
I don't even understand the logic of that too. Sanders said fans deserved better than just a handful of Eagles. So the solution is to disinvite everyone and give the fans zero Eagles instead of a handful?
