Someone should inform you that college players aren't ever on the field for the anthem, making your gotcha post look silly.

No shite Sherlock.
Didn’t stop Trump for praising Alabama and Clemson this morning because he has no idea they’re in the locker room for the anthem.
Unless you’re telling me this has nothing to do with the anthem and everything to do with being stood up.

Good. It annoys me how political this whole charade has gotten.
My Spurs won titles under Bush and Obama. I didn't view it as some ringing endorsement of either POTUS when they visited the WH--just an apolitical gesture of congratulations from the highest office in the land.
No point in extending invitations anymore if teams are just going to use it to turn into some circus/political statement.

It takes energy and commitment to STAY that angry, that often, for that long.
Low key impressed with the little nimrod

quote:Neither one of those former presidents made it their business to call out players from that league. Again, I don't think anyone believes this gesture is a big deal (Players have openly said that it's more of a hassle than anything else). But to go out of your way to uninvite a team because a large majority of the team wasn't going to visit the WH in the first place is pretty childish for a 70 year old to pull.

There's a shocker.
Again, like Trump, they know how to play to their dumbass base.
