and maybe Lebron. He has already passed Giannis in every area but defense. He had 25 assist/rebounds combined and 42 points tonight, it clearly wasn't a fluke.
He'll never be a great defensive player but he is virtually unlimited in every other way.

I think Luca is the best player ever by age.

He is incredible to watch. 6 triples this season already. And here's a note

Doncic joined LeBron James as the only players in NBA history younger than 21 to have a 40-point triple-double.

Crazy that Kobe drafted at 17 and Jermaine O'Neal playing at 17 lost out on this.

He’s going to come within half an assist or so of averaging a triple double at age 20.

No player in league history has ever had a skill set this advanced at this age. He’s MUCH more polished at 20 than Lebron was.

Luca wont ever get the credit he deserves because he is white. Racism is rampant among the NBA and their fans.

Based on advanced metrics he’s an average to slightly below average defender. He’s a better perimeter defender than multiple star players who don’t catch heat for their “defense”.

I know. I mean the white folks can’t even spell his first name right.

Eh, Dirk eventually got the respect he deserved especially after winning a title. Larry Bird is in everyone’s top 5 GOAT. Stockton is generally regarded as a top 3 PG ever.

Plenty of great white players are recognized as legends.

it has nothing to do with race. it's bc he's from europe.

the NBA has honestly done a horrible job on marketing him ngl

Euroball teaches the fundamentals that the AAU Basketball Circuits don't.

Those guys are supreme athletes, they can dunk and drive to the basket on a whim. They can get away with elite athleticism from their youth until they hit college where even some still get away with it.

Trae might become the better shooter, but Luca will be the better overall player from top to bottom.

and maybe Lebron.
Lebron turned 21 in December of his 3rd season while Luka turns 21 in February. Now Lebron played more minutes but the pace of play was much slower so I think per-100 possesion stats provide a better comparison.

In Lebron's 3rd season, he averaged 39.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists per 100 possessions with an EFG% of 51.5 and TS% of 56.8. In addition, the advanced stats show a 28.1 PER, 0.232 WS/48, 9.3 BPM, and 5.0 PIPM. His team outscored opponents by 4.1 points per 100 with him on the court and 10.4 points worse when he was off the court.

Luka is currently averaging 39.1 points, 9.0 assists, and 11.8 rebounds per 100 possessions with an EFG% of 54.1 and TS% of 60.9. The advanced stats show a 30.0 PER, 0.254 WS/48, 11.4 BPM, and 3.9 PIPM. His team is getting outscored by -0.4 points per 100 with him on the court and is 9.9 points better when he is off the court.

Based on individual stats alone, Luka is having a better season, although I think the on/off stats (which is a component of the PIPM metric) show that Lebron was carrying a greater load (led them to the playoffs and took the 2 time Eastern Conference Champs to 7) whereas Luka seems to have a better team around him.
