they beat mcneese, northwestern, and centenary two years ago in exhibition contests. probably why you didnt find it on an "official" schedule. they play northwestern every year and its always a close game. dont know about the best team in the state, but they are pretty darn good and fun to watch. that parker kid is legit. he could play for most d1s in this state.

that 05 team that played Arkansas and LSU in exhibitions was great. Put up 80 on Arky and frustrated the hell out of their coach, Porter was raining some 3's early on. LSU waxed them by like 70 though, but that was the team that went to the final 4

ETA: the LSU game versus LSUS from 2005 is actually still in the archives on the geauxzone and it's free to watch. Only entertaining for the first 10 minutes though when LSUS was up like 7

I think it's a stretch to say that any NAIA team is the best in its state, regardless of ranking. LSU-S has played no DI teams this year.

the only NAIA school/sport that could compete against and actually win against NCAA D1 schools is Lewis and Clark State in baseball. They routinely have 4-7 guys drafted every year and had a first rounder a couple years ago, Beau Mills, whose dad just became the manager of the Astros.

Ive heard from a few scouts and college coaches that said if lewis and clark competed in D1, they'd be a top 10 team year in and year out

Id normally agree bnap and in most instances you're right, but they are the exception. Their program is legit.

07 team went 58-5: LINK

they beat air force 16-1, beat washington state 12-1, beat Gonzaga 11-6. I know those teams arent great, but they still pummeled them

8 guys drafted on that team, all before round 22

Actually baseball in general is about the only sport NAIA can compete with D1. LSUS beat ULM several years ago by like 20 runs. Dallas Baptist was NAIA and has moved up, pretty competitive. Not all NAIA teams could compete, but the top ones could. Key word is compete though, not win championships.

oh yea NAIA baseball teams can compete for sure. There are a few programs, Lewis and Clark, University of BC, Oklahoma City that compete with and beat D1 teams routinely. But Lewis and Clark is the only school that I think(and several others) would be able to not only compete but would be a top 10 program

7-8. They are pretty bad. D3 basketball as a whole is not very good. It's worse than NAIA by a good bit.
