Conference depth in the Big12/Pac12/ACC isn't really better than in the MWC or AAC.
Every conference has 2 or 3 teams that are legit and a whole bunch of meh after that.
OU is going to get the nod over a non blue blood 100% of time which is dumb. Yes they won the Big 12 this year but that doesn't change that they are going to get the benefit of the doubt purely b/c they are a traditional power. That's why a playoff that includes all conference winners is a better way to crown the champ than what we have now.
Bowl results aren't even a good way to determine conference strength b/c that month layoff makes every game a crap shoot.
With a playoff that started in early December w/all conference winners we would get much better football than the current system.
