Please justify your pathetic existence

I can sort of understand being an astros or braves fan due to the relatively regional proximity

But what is with all the yankees, red sox, cubs fans and the like?

Growing up you had 3 choices in baton rouge. Astros, cubs, braves.

I chose cubs

pretty much

I watched braves and cubs on tbs and wgn respectively, but obvious as a 7 year old I'm taking a rooting interest in the winners

I somewhat cheer for the Astros but I really don't care for MLB. I mainly pull for LSU players. My gramps was a huge braves fan when he was around, so I tried pulling for them but never could develop a passion for it

Grandfather is a huge Astros fan. He and I would watch games together, I learned to love them through him.

It usually comes down to TV exposure. Cubs were always on WGN, Braves on TBS and the Astros on FSN. I have friends who are fans of these teams because that's who they watched on TV when they were kids growing up.

As for Yakees and Red Sox? No clue. Some will say they only liked certain players then became a fan of the team, but I would guess most are just on the bandwagon.

like many Cubs fans in my age group, late 80s and early 90s summers off of school were spent watching many a Cubs day baseball games. WGN was basic cable and played just about every single Cubs game.

Watching Grace, Dawson, Sandberg, Maddux, etc during the summers year after year will make you a fan.

Iv never liked an AL team, hate them all, especially yankees. DH hitting is for pussies.

Braves fan due to the David Justice, Glavine, Pendelton, Maddux, Blauser, Chipper, and smoltz days.

Astros, just cause they are always on the tube.

Cubs, me and my grandpa watched the cubs every damn day during the summer, even though he slept have the damn game in his chair. I would wake his arse up when i screamed HOMER!!!

You being from LA and somehow having a Cubs/Bills combination of fandom is more annoying than any bandwagoner jumping to the Heat.

That combination is fricking retarded. It makes me want to stalk your posts this November when the Bills are 1-9 and Mario Williams is out for the year with a torn pec.

I don't have a favorite team seeing that LA doesn't have one. I was the same way with the NBA until we got the Hornets.

I do like the Cubs, Mariners, and Braves.

If I had to pick from those I'd say Cubs.... :(

I can understand the Braves, Cubs, and Astros fans. Those all have reasonable explanations.

I'm a Cardinals fan because my mom is from St Louis and I went to a lot of games at Busch Stadium growing up.

Rangers fan here. Lived in the Dallas area for a couple of years in 89-90 and have been following them since then. Actually driving over for the weekend to catch a couple of games.

Now that they are good, some people who don't know how long I have followed them call me a bandwagon fan.

Braves because my older brother liked them and watched them on tbs. I was 10 or 11 when they went from worst to first so that sort of thing just stuck with me.

I grew up in ATL. Grew up with many sons of Braves players, played ball with and against a few current (or recent) Braves.

Lived the first 6 years of my life in England (air force brat) and when we moved back to the states (AZ) I got my first taste of baseball by going to the AAA Pheonix Giants games but there was no sticking power with them for me to remain a fan....October 1985 we drove to Louisiana (EAFB) and my father and I listened to the WS on the radio and found myself pulling for the Cardinals.

Get to La and we only had one TV and mom owned that bitch so no chance for me to watch TBS or WGN so at night I would get a clear feed from KMOX out of St. Louis and Jack Bucks voice sealed the deal for me as a Cardinals fan
