Since they couldn't just kick Curtis and Evangel out, every school in the state suffers.

Here's what I wish for after every state championship game, when the media interviews the winning coach and the 3-4 players.

"Congratulations 'Slade Bolden' on an incredible season and victory in today's title game. If you could play the winner of the Catholic-Curtis game to prove your team really is the best team in the state, would you like to do that?"

I guarantee he would say yes! Even if it meant there's a chance (although small this year) you might get beat, ultimate competitors want to play that game!

Ha! I hear ya! You also know what I'm saying.

And if we are playing that way...I didn't realize they played the state title game 6 weeks ago. Also didn't see where WM-Catholic played each other.

Curtis and catholic are not on WM level. Curtis while talented has 1 SR.

Then they should settle it on the field instead of supporting the stupid split.

I agree and have not said otherwise.

My point was that you are supposed to win championships on the field.

But the LHSAA does not allow the kids to play it out to see who is the best and win the championship.

Here is what I wish. That private and public schools use the exact same rules when it comes to player eligibility and all rules dealing with athelitics.. It never happened so the split was the next best choice.

Enjoy your division championships. Whatever those are.

That is the difference disputed by public schools in favor of the split because a student could be admitted to a private school while living outside of the attendance zone but they CANNOT be admitted into their public school unless they live in that zone.

This is patently false. There are plenty of out of zone players playing at public schools. For example, Iowa is suiting up 13 out of zone players in tonight's 3A state title game.

They are not violating any rules, just using them to their advantage. This is why this split is so ridiculous. And iowa's tuition is $0. So spare me with the private advantage bull.

You are on crack. The best teams from 5A-C played a tournament and the best teams were class 5A-C State champions.

The best teams in the private school league played and they are Division 1-5 champions.

I disagree with you unless some of these rules were implemented the last couple of years. I lived in Shreveport when Evangel was owning 5A football. One of my good friend's son played on ECA and later on in college. I heard more recruiting stories than I could believe. Their zone went well beyond the S'port/Bossier metro.

But whatever. Enjoy your Division Championships. Whatever those are. The public schools keep the real championship titles of 5A-1A.

You are completely fricking wrong as usual

I went to catholic BR from 02-06, and was ineligible my freshman year. And I lived in the heart of BR, but was not in Catholics zone. Catholics zone was set the same as the public school it was located nearest to

Just want to throw in I'm anti split and I think we should go back to 4 classes period. Earn a championship. No 10 team "State Titles"

I'm laughing at myself now. I can't believe I fell for your troll job. I now realize you've been messing with me this whole time.

But public schools say they can't get kids outside of their zone.

How is Iowa pulling it off legally?

M&M, failing schools, administrative transfer by their executive committee principal (player still lives in Sulphur), out of zone approvals, etc.

As I said, no rules broken, just using to their advantage...and HUGE split supporters.

If you think the split is going away soon you better think again. It expanded this year to Baseball and Basketball etc... It's not going away and nor should it. The state of Texas has a split between public and private schools too in basketball and football.

I'm in favor of putting the public and private championship games in two completely different locations since they are different state tournaments. They are different leagues and it would give different parts of the state a chance to host more. For example: Top 28 it can be Lafayette and for private they can be in Monroe. For baseball it can be Sulphur and for private it can be Shreveport. For football it can be in the Super Dome and for private it can be at Tiger Stadium.

15-1. Someone ran out of pitching. Congrats Neville! Not just a football school anymore

They beat my team in the 1980 quarterfinals, Brister pitched. I think they played Will Clarks Jesuit team in the finals.

Good info. This is the 1st time Neville has won a baseball championship since the 60s. They are about to go on a roll however. All pitchers are juniors and a ton of talent coming up. Of course the split helps.
