Private schools are assigned the same attendance of the public school zone they are located in. So the schools address is like a home address. Whatever school the address would belong to is what zone the LHSAA assigns
I disagree. I lived in Shreveport when Evangel was owning 5A football. One of my good friend's son played on ECA and later on in college. I heard more recruiting stories than I could believe. Their zone went well beyond the S'port/Bossier metro.
But whatever. Enjoy your Division Championships. Whatever those are. The public schools keep the real championship titles of 5A-1A.

You aren't eligible to play at a private your first year either if you are out of their zone

You disagree with me?
Actually...That's not really an option. I explained the rules.
Evangel' zone has never been outside of the traditional attendance zone assigned by the LHSAA.
You can commute from to any school public or private from any part of the universe and be eligible after sitting a calendar year.
That is the difference disputed by public schools in favor of the split because a student could be admitted to a private school while living outside of the attendance zone but they CANNOT be admitted into their public school unless they live in that zone.
As for the recruiting stories that your friend told you. I bet some of them are based on truth. I bet some are false. I bet everyone of them has been exaggerated.
Simple logic says the Division Titles are awarded to the better teams compared to the State Titles.
If public schools thought they could routinely win titles with private schools in the same bracket they would not want the split.
That's what is so disappointing with West Monroe and Barbe not wanting to play together with all schools. They routinely beat the privates.

Go to other states like Texas and tell them you were division 2 champion and they will look at you like you are stupid and say "what is that?"

The Neville Tigers the Class 4A state champions 15-1 over Tioga
Congratulations Tigers
Congratulations Tigers

Actually...
You are still very unclear by what the LHSAA attendance zone policies are.
The LHSAA for quite some time has assigned attendance zones for eligibility. Anyone that attends a school for a calendar year is eligible at that school regardless of where they live.
So Evangel could have a kid living in Marshall, TX and he would be INELIGIBLE his first year at ECA. But would be ELIGIBLE the rest of his time.
This is accurate. This isn't an argument. The fact that you have misunderstood the eligibility rules of the LHSAA for a long time doesn't make me full of shite. It just means you're uninformed.
In regards to your friends opinions from outside of this state. In their states they would be right about the differences between private school ball and public school ball.
That would because in LA we are ranked near last in public education so in our highest populated areas many families choose for their children to attend private schools. Not to mention our long standing catholic schools which many are older than many public schools.
Why in the world we create a new playoff system to get rid of inferior competition? The reason for the split at is absolute core is that (in the opinion of LHSAA principals) private school teams field better teams. If they didn't feel this way there would be no reason to split....that's why I said it's logical to assume that the division title is for the best team in the state.

The LHSAA principals voted that West Monroe can't win a State Title if private schools are in the playoffs.
That's the whole thing with this split garbage. It doesn't let the kids play it out.
Posted on 5/13/17 at 2:07 pm to Actually
No the LHSAA principals said Winnfield couldn't beat Curtis. Since they couldn't just kick Curtis and Evangel out, every school in the state suffers.

Damn. 15-1. Someone ran out of pitching. Congrats Neville! Not just a football school anymore
