How is Higgins good?

Also,

How will that work if Higgins finishes below the 32 line but is tied for first in district. Who gets the automatic bid?

Both will get in, and the lowest seed available will be knocked out. In this case Higgins would become the #32. It happened last year with John Ehret.

they have a committed coach who has been there for 10 years now and built a nice setup at Higgins as compared to other 8-5A schools that are not us... automatic bids go to every team tied for first at the end of the season, just like football. Tiebreakers are a thing of the past.

I hate our district btw... it lowers our power rating... a few years ago we were like 27-6 and the 25 seed iirc. A home game is basically unattainable.

I would have hoped they did, because both Chalmette - Higgins games have been fun to watch, but tempers flared between the two teams yesterday, so it might not be a good idea if it's not needed

Bump... Chalmette scores the last 12 runs to knock off Ehret 16-6... Hunter Bell, a Nicholls football signee, hit a grand slam and three run HR and drove in 7...

WM cuts ASH 18-2 in 5 innings. Bolden and Dejean with HRs. Booth improves to 9-0. WM improves to 30-2 on the year. Doubleheader at WM tomorrow for the last 2 games of the regular season.

Got a question about the select school brackets... do they skip the first round and go straight to 2/3 series?

Or do they have a one game first round, one series, and then on to state?

I heard a coach discussing this recently and I believe it depends on the number of teams in the division. Some divisions do not have enough teams to populate a bracket including the 1st round that would equate to the bi-district round in the class brackets.

the division 1 and 2 will look a lot like the boys hoops brackets -

playing back from finals and semis which are 1 game..
quarters and regionals are 2/3 if bi district round exists which it doesnt in div 2... the first round is 2/3
