Louisiana is the first team from the Southwest Region to win the LLWS. The Southwest Region was created in 2001.
Before that from 1957 to 2000 they competed in the South Region and they only needed to win 2 or 3 games to win the LLWS. Louisiana is only the 4th team from this Region of the country to win the LLWS. And they went 6-1. The other winners went 2-0, 3-0, and 3-0.

Gotta laugh at all those that think it's easy to get a team up and go win this event.

They were extremely well coached. And I wish LSU would hire their batting coach. Those kids were impressive in many ways. So happy for them.

Sometimes the best thing for youth teams is having coaches without kids on the team. He seems like a no non-sense kind of guy and that's what it takes to get 12 year olds to focus on the task at hand. Amazing to get someone like that to give up a month of his time to do that.
