Just texted my buddy who is a high school ref. A kick is a kick until someone has possession not just touched. Any kick that goes into the end zone is a touchback in high school fooball.

La uses NFHS rules where as Texas uses NCAA RULES; just one more thing Texas does correctly while this backwards arse state lags behind.
