I mentioned the story earlier, but Alex Cole is the guy who broke his leg playing 500 with Candy Maldonado.

Also you gotta mention AL ROY Pat Listach I'm still not sure what his ethnicity is to this day.

NLU Alum, Chuck Finley

My dad used to work with his sister and she would always hook us up when they played the Rangers.

Man... Devereaux and Finley. That outifeld got me so excited in 89. Then came the Glen Davis trade. My favorite obscure Oriole though is either Randy Milligan or David Segui. That's a friggin' 1st base platoon right there. Also, brief shoutout to Leo Gomez.

Elsewhere, how did both Pat Listach and Todd Hollandsworth both win a Rookie of the Year Award?

steve "bye bye" balboni. did time with the yankees, mariners, royals (won a WS), and rangers.

this card is from one of balboni's many stents in the minors, this time with the oklahoma city 89ers.

i spent many summer nights rolling down this hill while "bye bye" was bashing the shite out of some baseballs.

Devereaux has to be a top 5 Wyoming-born ball player.

I have a special place for him for his performance in the 95 NLCS.

When I was in 6th or 7th grade, we stayed at the same hotel as the Angels, when they were in Arlington. Chuck wouldn't come out of his room, if he was pitching that day but we were able to hang out in the lobby with his parents and Tawny. I sat there in the chair next to her and had probably a half hour conversation...I had no idea who she was but she seemed like a normal lady to me.

I know, :csb:
