It’s always neat when a week 10 matchup works out to a district championship game.

a loss is a loss and a win is a win hoco or no hoco

In this case, I guess an arse beating is an arse beating.

quote:i e never seen this level of excitement around ASH football. Visiting fans be warned, our visitors side is rough. Old bleachers and limited facilities. We are aware and are hoping improvements are enroute.

WF 36 - McKinley 7. F. WF has Tara @ Glen oaks and would be close to hosting a 1st round playoff game if they win that game.

I feel like the only way teams really improve their visitors sides is to build a better home side on the other side…

Visitors side has been that way since my time on Olla Lane; early 80s.

quote:we have the ground breaking for a new under stadium facility for new dressing rooms for all sports and improved bathroom and concessions. But I don’t think we have the space on the current visitors side. Our home side is serviceable and pretty big. I would just love some better seating and concessions, bathrooms for our visitors.

But yes you are correct, the programs that have been able to flip sides have had a leg up.

Not many options for visitor side expansion due to the residential street behind that side of field.
Nonetheless, glad to see the men of Troy experiencing good times in football.

Have you been to ASH? It’s needed not just for aesthetic purposes, but safety. The old wood is pretty bad/saggy. They’re doing a good job of updating all things there though. You can tell since Bachman got there and they moved to Select a focus on all things football. It’s a process though.

quote:yeah, we are probably a good 20 years behind. But I doubt Rapides parish gets it done. They just don’t have a vision for what a successful program can do for a community and school. We are open enrollment and they are sensitive to all programs being treated the same. When they are not. The way the tax districts work is odd. And I have no idea how gate proceeds and such are allocated. But when ASH has like 3-4k (a wild as guess on my part) at the Ruston game you probably had 300 at the Peabody game. I would be shocked if it didn’t go into some common pool.

Some has been fixed/repaired but we need lighting, new bleachers and a permanent solution for a limited concession offering and bathrooms.

Yup i could have cared less about whether it was hoco or not bonfire was of bigger interest to me than everything else hoco. As a player 3-1 and yeah that 1 was biggest loss of season

Thanks for sharing facility update. Don’t return to A-town since I have any family left there.
When in school there in early 80’s, ASH was the only school in Rapides Parish without a baseball program. Even the Parish’s B, C class schools had one. Finally got one in 1982, IIRC.
