Yep, originally from Bunkie. Jena will have the size advantage on both lines next week. Bunkie will have the advantage as far as pure athletes. Will be a packed stadium and a good game.
I know they have to beat Buckeye tonight first but Buckeye plays man Defense and that 100% plays into Bunkies favor. I don't really think it will be close.

Do you know anyone from Pine Prairie?
My coach at Many High in the 1980s, Charles Hazard, is the head coach there.
I'm impressed that he's still at it.

This is the last year of Bolton as it traditionally was. Beginning next year, they will transition to a performing arts and academic magnet. They will add 6th-8th grades next year by engulfing Rapides Academy, which is the academic middle school, and if there aren't any issues in upgrading the building, will add K-5 in 2025, consolidating into it Phoenix Elementary, the academic elementary, and one of the best graded schools in the state.
Current Bolton students will be allowed to finish out their years there if they choose but as of next year middle schoolers from the zone will be split primarily to Peabody and less to ASH. Bolton will maintain sports, but honestly, its a real question if they will even field a football team under the new school, they may be like Rapides High and be a 2A that does not play football. It's going to depend on the numbers.

Not really, the head coach from pine prarie came to Bunkie last year to be the OC and it was pretty much a disaster. He left after the season.

Have there been any improvements to the field and stadium in the last few years?

No, as I've told folks all along, this was RPSB plan you can tell by how money was spent. Alexandria passed a $100 million bond for the Alexandria schools ASH zone got the most, Peabody and Bolton both equal, most of it going to completely rebuild the feeder schools, but of it Peabody got a new turf field and the track will be done after football season with some fieldhouse work to be done as well, ASH got turf fields for all of its outdoor stadiums, plus some additional classroom space and fieldhouse work, Bolton got a new track but most of its money is going to renovating the Auditorium and the renovations needed for the incoming Elementary and Middle Schoolers. The bond past last year and the RPSB put out the plan on Bolton this past March. They did it in such a sneaky way, the community got mad, they tabled it to "review" and then passed it in August before the school year started. It was always the plan.
And I'm not a Bolton supporter, I'm a Peabody alum. I've paid close attention to it, because it may affect us by pushing us to 5A in the next 5 to 10 years.

Gotcha!
I sure was heartbreaking watching those kids play last night with no fans.

Watching the HC/BM stream… Holy cross scored first, BM drove all the way down and fumbled to HC at the 1… they stop HC three and out, HC fumbled the punt snap, they run for it, and BM hit him out of bounds
They might need to look at a rule change because BM got the ball due to a change of possession. I feel it should have been first down Holy Cross
And then Brother Martin scored. 7-6 BM in the second quarter

Holy Cross 13 - 7 Brother Martin
HC goes for it on 4th and 3 from the 50 and busts a long TD run

There was also a penalty on holy Cross on the play so not sure how that figured into it. I was expecting it to be a Holy Cross first down.

Someone from HC needs to give these BM broadcasters a copy of their roster

Walker 7

Long injury delay for an EA player. Looks like a major break of his lower leg. Headed to the hospital.
1st and goal for Walker.

Curtis is up on Acadiana 21-0 before halftime
Maybe it’s the seats at Zephyr Field but it looks like nobody is there
