doubled - any word on the DE #5? I was told he failed a lot of classes as a sophomore and they remediated him. How can he retain is eligibility with failing?

RA is a great team, but they seem to be playing with fire. Particularly, with all of the guys the commentators were openly talking about from all over the State and Tennessee.

Guess this is why everyone pushed for the Select - Non-Select bullshite. Private schools (JC, Evangel, RA, etc) doing what they want - when they want.

Yeah - that's what I am hearing too. Kids who have been in the school for years, paying their tuition, supporting the team, making practices, etc....getting shoved to the side for their big boys from out of town. Win at all cost!

it's a fine line.. going on at a lot of schools

but.. I know one guy who has supported the school heavily for years. on kid number 3 there.. and kid ain't gonna play FB... pretty much replaced by as he said "an imported kid who is two years older than my kid"....

but.. parents openly airing the laundry and leaving the school and further airing laundry... gets the LHSAA sniffing...

Exactly, a bunch of the older supporters aren't happy with the direction things are going. They love Stubbs and his coaching but not other things at the school. As for #5, I don't know any of the details, I'll ask my RA connection Monday at work. If he failed enough classes to not meet the state minimum GPA(which is ridiculously low), he should be ineligible.

calpreps.com

look under projections and Louisiana...

you'll have to do a lot of deleting of redundant town names and (LA) to get under 7,900 characters though

but people outside don't see what might make a program tumble down...

all i see is Timmy Byrd has the prohibitive favorites in basketball every year, not only to win 2A but be the consensus #1 team in the state, and they're doing the same now in football. the other sports are ok too...

whether what they're doing doesn't make everyone happy is of no concern to the people that can't possibly know of those things, that think Hulk Hogan won the WWF title by saying his prayers and eating his vitamins.

and i'm not talking about dumb people, just people removed from those situations

from the perspective of a losing program, it'd be nice to have a guy like Timmy Byrd as AD

I was told earlier this morning from someone who I work who knows the RA program very well since his kids graduated there 2-3 years ago. I just commented to him that I saw the game last night but it was interesting that RA know looks like a public school with the announcers basically coming out and say this kid came from so on and such, he told me his girl and boy couldnt have graduated at a better time, he thinks RA is a mess now that Byrd is there with the kids he is bringing in. Supposely out of the 22 starters RA started last night on the feild, 12 of them did not start there high school career at RA, he also told me #5 is a player who failed 5 subjects last year who doesnt go to class and somehow is still eligible to play for them.

I think Byrd is walking a very very thin line here but as of now he is getting away with it. This isnt surprising though with the LHSAA, they are always to lazy to go in and do homework anyway. I just remember that when I was first born in the 60s, RA was a school built to keep out "certain people" and now if you look at it, it makes you wonder cause there is no doubt their is people rolling around in thier grave.

And they were never known for their academics either. RA always had good baseball and softball teams, with football being solid but just not enough to take it to the top (except when they were in the Independant association years ago).
