Not much drop off from Neal to Perrin really. AP is a little smaller but is capable.

Talent-wise, maybe not, but the triple option is all about timing. That's much more difficult to replace when going from a starter to a back-up who's seen a lot fewer reps with the first team in practice...and even less during live action.

Opelousas Catholic beats St. Edmund 46-32.
QB from St. Edmund is very impressive. Threw the ball 47 times tonight, no run game whatsoever.

Definitely made some mistakes. Threw the ball up into coverage way too many times.
But I think he's the only weapon they have at all. He can extend plays with his legs as well.

West Monroe scored 7 in the scrimmage, 7 in the jamboree, and 21 in the first game. They switched to a sophomore and a freshman at QB. They've scored 48 and 50 the last two weeks. Point being, timing can be worked out if the QB is capable.

Of course it can be worked out. But that doesn't guarantee it will. Hahnville's had a problem so far this season with the exchanges on pitches and hand-offs with BOTH QBs. They were fortunate last week that it didn't cost them the game. But those bounces aren't always going to be as fortunate.

i'm hoping Lakeshore doesn't figure it out tonight... Fontainebleau and Slidell have combined to hold Ducre to 26 yards and Lakeshore to 14 points...

and if they don't against us they get the nice reward of a trip to Shreveport... to play Byrd

Keep in mind he's taking all the snaps with the ones this week, that will help.

Oh definitely. I hope he plays well. I'm just more nervous with a triple-option back-up QB than I would be with a spread or pro-style offense. I watched a ton of option when I was at Nicholls (and after I graduated) and have seen first hand all too often how change at the QB position can impact a team....but that WAS Nicholls...so there's that.
