I was surprised as well that he didn’t use them quicker. The momentum shift on the 4th down was evident and Catholic went down quickly to inside the ten. It was like they were stuck in between what to do.. you use the timeouts and they score anyway and Catholic will play safe D and make you waste a lot of time, hindsight sucks but games like that are hard to coach I’d imagine.

Yeah, it was a really thin line and the odds were definitely against ZHS from making a comeback down 11 and not having the ball.

I'd have to say getting that 4th down shifted it from a 60-40 to an 85-15 type odds if we had the benefit of the ESPN predictor thing.

With that, how long is this going to drag out? If this drags past Sunday, going to be a lot pissed off coaches and admins.

Money Talks.. if this were McKinley there would be no lawsuit and no delay... Uhigh got caught not following the rules and now is screwing all the other teams

Bonine did the same thing in Nevada. The point behind it is doing what is right for every boy and girl.
The LHSAA has received a TRO from U High. As of now, this hearing is November 18, then the playoffs will follow. Of the 307 football playing schools, this decision by U High could affect 250 schools via power point rankings. The result of this is, the championships would no longer be played in the Superdome. The LHSAA is trying to get the hearing expedited.

It has Ms Tigerfoot thinks they are gonna be playing football in March still.

So I bet they get a ton of backlash. I assume it’s Uhigh but can’t imagine these considerations were not made prior to the penalties.

This is the kind of stuff I expect to see eventually with college teams and the NCAA as a governing body now that money and congress are getting more and more involved. Crazy to see at the high school level and potentially how impactful it could be.

I pray that if there is no merit that every member school refuses to schedule Uhigh ever again

Taking the dome away would be crappy for those kids that make it.

I’m for it if it means we’re having a little cooler weather a week later for the playoffs… Gordon getting it done

Or the LHSAA could decide to restrict playoff field. Leaving uhigh out altogether and keep the finals in the dome

Uhigh. Making the playoff weather cooler would be there only saving grace.

Terrible idea… can’t change the bracket from 28 or 24 to 16 at this point

It would be one thing if it was week 2 like when the LHSAA went to the current divisions

it may be a terrible idea but when you are looking at the rankings we are looking at 3 win teams going to the playoffs. I’d rather tell a team with three wins they didn’t qualify than to tell a potential champ they can’t fulfill a dream of playing in the superdome.

Again not saying it isn’t a terrible thought.

you don’t tell them that when they thought they qualified based on the rules we all agreed to at the start of the season
