I'm hoping Barbe can pull it out. WM's only loss this season was to Calvary, a pass-heavy team, so they'll present a challenge offensively.

I've heard Barbe's defense isn't the greatest though. If you look at all of their scores, they are almost all shootouts.

Congrats Rummel. I honestly thought Ouachita would win this one. I'm very close to Coach Carr and the OC Larry Foster. They both felt it would be a slugfest but with both teams scoring at will as opposed to a def. struggle. I think this is about as good as we will get from Ouachita for a while. Things changed big time when they opened up Richwood which caused Ouachita to lose a bunch of talented players. Actually I don't think Ouachita has done much since Richwood opened. Both are average to above average alone so imagine if they were all attending the same school like they did in the past. Those were the days Ouachita was playing in the dome or making it to the 3rd round and semi finals with regularity. As for the question someone asked about the field, we had our YMCA Super Bowl there last weekend and none of the kids had problems w/ the turf and that was the first time they ever played on something like that.

There is no reason certain teams should have to travel

If you are good enough, you can go on the road and win. Nobody should sit at home for four straight games while other teams hit all four corners of the state. If everything is equal, sure, let the best seed host. But only, if everything else is equal.

Yeah, they will have to outscore WM to have a shot. But, they haven't had a problem doing that to win games all year.

Doesn't make sense why a team like U-High should have to travel to Shreveport both weeks is my point. In this system, they have to. In my system, they travel last week but tonight would have been in BR.

Traveling from Baton Rouge to Shreveport two weeks in a row is hard, I agree.

Heard final for barbe was 45-35 barbe had 5+ turnovers and still one by 10

Yes they won by 10, Parkway only capitilized on 1 of the turnovers. Parkway had 3 fumbles, one went through the endzone for a touchback in the final 6 min of the game, looked like a touchdown to me, Parkways QB was running to the corner and stretched the ball out and apparently fumbled across the endzone out of bounds, a punt from our enzone that went for 15 yards, and an onside kick that we didn't get and Barbe only won by 10. This was not a butt kicking by any stretch of the imagination. Their QB really kept the drives alive. One play took 20 sec. with the QB scrambling all over the field and Quinn was wide open. There were several plays like that. It's hard to cover for that long without someone getting open. This was a very good ball game and I'm proud of the Panthers. Barbe has some great athletes and deserve the win. Good luck agianst WM.

I'll take what the boys are hearing in the locker room over the word of a part-time recruiting geek/movie critic. They said Tim's offer to LSU was still there, but the U is still very much in the picture. He was a man tonight. Holding Calvary to 7 in their own house is a tribute to our scheme and our execution. The whole defense was really good tonight.
