HC can't "host" their semifinal should they win...

now they'll play in gormley if against St. Aug, but Aug would "host" it

not really a huge fan of the Skippers, but I've really gotta commend them for the job they've done these last couple years. I'll pull for them to get to the semis again, and i think they can get it done...

I'm sure if a stadium is needed for the playoffs, Chalmette's is available, as it is almost every November

I'm scared about the Rummel game. It definitely won't be easy by any means. A 4 and a half/5 hour road trip + playing a big physical opponent = disadvantage. I would love to see a Rummel/Catholic Rummel/Mandeville matchup either way. Both would draw HUGE crowds.

It's Westminster, common mistake.

I know Haynesville is the traditional power here, but don't be surprised if Westminster pulls the upset.

Devery's nephew Jalen Williams has been utilized well this year, and many starters on this team that were underclassmen when Westminster knocked Haynesville out at their place are now seniors.

Should be a good game. I'd be there, if I wasn't going to Fayetteville.

Either one would be great. Are the finals live this year or tape delayed?

6 Airline at 3 West Monroe
2 Barbe at 7 Parkway

Ouachita over Rummel. Ouachita can run the ball very effectively with a big OL. QB not that accurate but he can kill you on the long pass with a couple of good WRs. Couple of good LBs that are all over the field.

Mandy over Catholic. Mandy has picked it up the last few seasons. They played WM in the semis last year and looked like a solid team.

Parkway vs Barbe. Too close to call which will be a shoot-out. Barbe has a good little QB in Fontenot, a great WR in Quinn and an outstanding TE. Barbes defense is not as strong this year. Game could come down to the last few seconds. Barbe wins by a whisker.

West Monroe over Airline. Airline's offense spreads the field, which has been the achilles heal for WM.
WMs defense is pretty stout this year, pitching a shut-out against a very good Acadiana team last week. WM is clicking right now and it will be hard to stop them. Offense does what it has to do to win. WMs defense will wear out Airliine by the fourth quarter.

I believe tape delayed. I can only remember one time that they were live. Would be nice if they were live annually.

I'll be sure and mention to my son that everyone, including the Calvary staff, is already looking forward to their rematch with Evangel next week. If it wasn't for the BS of us having to travel to Shreveport again, apparently regardless of who the higher seed is, I would predict a U-High win. As it is, it is likely to be the closest of any of the quarterfinals, and if our OL can open some holes for Nick like we did last year, we've got a good chance to prevail.

That's the only reason I'm picking them. It's very, very difficult to travel across the state to play a great team and come out with a victory.

My senior year, we played all of our games within a 30 mile radius, including the first 2 playoff games. We had to travel to Lafayette (about 2 hours) for the quarters and play the eventual state champ, Acadiana, and our lack of "real" road experience showed.
