wait... I just checked the bracket on the LHSAA website...

why is Byrd going to Curtis next week?

Byrd is the better seed and both teams have been home once in the tournament (sure Curtis' 1st round game against Shaw was forfeited to them... but that still counts as a home win)

Your info is wrong. Curtis plays at Byrd. High seed always hosts in the select divisions

the official LHSAA bracket on the LHSAA's website has the asterisk that denotes the home team by Curtis

have to disagree..

The seeding was terrible... Three best teams were on the same side the bracket.

what’s to say the best team isn’t Byrd?

Would love to see a Byrd state championship because otherwise this MSB would be unbearable if BM, Catlick, or Curtis win it

BM hasn't won it all since the 70s and Bonis is barely a year off of damn near being dead

let the 'Saders have this 1 huh?

Should not be shocked that LHSAA isn’t keen on detail. The rule is that high seed always hosts in the select divisions. It’s word for word in the bylaws (4.17)

Game is at Byrd.

JT mentioned on Friday Night Football that they were going to Shreveport, or Ed Daniels did.

Not sure what you’re saying here, but according to google, Parkview has more students than STM.

Google shows 1,321 students at Parkview in PK, K-12. If I’m not mistaken, STM has the largest enrollment, 9-12, by a fair margin of all division 2 schools.

About 970 for a co-ed school

They’re about 200 students more than next closest div 2 Teurlings. Basically double the enrollment of Delasalle and University, their stiffest competition. That’s why some people feel they should play up to div 1, like Shaw, Rummel and St Aug does. And they very well could win that division as well.

Honest question...why don’t the teams you mentioned just play in the division their enrollment dictates? If they all “play up” except one, why not just play where you are supposed to?

I think the ones that I mentioned all have traditionally played up to stay with the other Nola area schools. As a casual fan, the STM teams of recent years would add to the competitiveness of div 1. And they are much more like the div 1 teams enrollment wise than they are the div 2 teams they compete against. I’ll be shocked if any game they play will be competitive this playoff season.

There is a couple of intriguing games in 5A

Ruston takes on Destrehan.

Ruston has played one of the toughest schedules this year. Probably one of their best teams in many years.
I look for Ruston to win by at least 14.

Alex plays Zachary. Alex is an up and coming program and they could surprise Zachary. Don't sleep on them.
But I think Zachary wins a close one.

West Monroe seems to have found some of its ole MoJo.
They have a found a huge FB that is only a freshman, John Pearson.
Kinda reminds me a little of, well, someone who played at LSU about 25 years ago under Dinardo.
