what do you think has happened for the past 8 years?

I am talking about forcing private school into their own classification. Only competing for championships against other private schools. If a public school wants to play a private school in non district thats fine. But when it comes to the playoffs its private vs. private.

It is a shame that the principals can't sit down and vote to make the system the best and most efficient it can be. Instead it becomes a decision of what is best for my school to have the easiest road possible to win. My boys play at U-High and I am excited that they are moving up to 3a with a chance to have better competition on a week in week out basis. The play up 1 class rule certainly doesn't help their chances of ever winning a State title, but if they do, it will be something worth celebrating.

Because far too many principals have their schools own parochial interests ahead of anything and everything else.

The whole mess started - because of two schools..

You can laugh, bitch, or whatever you want at my opinions as if I give a shite what you think. But you tell me if you think its right if your FHS bulldogs run into Curtis, Evangel, Rummel, etc, etc ever year in the playoffs and get hammered over and over. Yes I am aware that they are all in different classifications but they could be and have been in the past in the same class. The fact is the private schools have a unfair advantage over public schools. Its no different than if private universities such as USC, Notre Dame, Miami, etc, etc. suddenly didn't have to follow the rules of the NCAA in recruiting. Its no different here. I guess JT Curtis has won 25 state championships because he is just that much better of a coach than anyone else? It has nothing to do with him cherry picking football players from around the area and giving them a free ride to Curtis?

this actually has a ton to do with it. He's literally one of the best HS coaches EVER in the the United States. It has A LOT to do with starting the system in about 4th or 5th grade.

When I was in 10th grade at FHS we played Curtis in a jamboree. All the FHS players were talking shite like they had a chance but I was like brah, just wait. I knew my boys from Curtis were gonna stomp their arse (I went to Curtis for 8th and 9th)

Explain?

I am listening?

FWIW I don't have a dog in this hunt. My high school is just average athletically. Some good years and some bad. We do have a top notch coaching legend as our HC so we put a decent product on the field. But we will never sniff a championship.

This is just my opinion

Rules are the same and plenty of public schools recruit every bit as much. If you don't think baseball players have moved into the district to play for the Barbes and Zacharys of the world just to be a part of their program you are crazy.

Look I am not discrediting that he is a great coach and a HS legend. But he didn't win 25 championships at all levels including 5A with a enrollment of a 2A school at best with just a incredible scheme. I know they run that veer all the way back to the 4th grade and no doubt that helps them a ton. But you don't win at that level for so long without stickpiling talent.

Tennessee HS football is now an absolute mess.. notice the direction of the vol program over the last 10 years.. a split is not what is best for HS football.. it affects the have nots. .much worse than it affects the haves...

what needs to happen.. the rules need to be enforced..

for every curtis.. there is a st martins.. for every ECA there is a st .mary's...

and elleshoe.. Hank T is the coach at Ponchy.. their soph. class is pretty stout.

eh, Curtis never played in 4A... but they've won a lot against a lot of outmanned teams. But I KNOW they recruit. I just don't have a problem with it. Instead of separating public and private I'd rather see them have a football only super class.

I coach at a public school and don't want this fwiw. It would suck if they split everybody up.

bingeaux.....

Heck even South Lafourche back when they won basketball title.. didn't like 4-5 kids move down there to go to school there?

and their parents got jobs....

now.. the LHSAA doesn't have the budget, resources or man power to catch or prove anyone doing it on that kind of scale.... nor can they subpeona bank records and prove that Lil bobby's dad is not paying his tuition.. it is actually being paid by someone else.. through direct payments to his pop...
