The ump screwed Springfield so bad on that call at 1st. Literally cost them the game. Pics show the ball 10 feet away from the glove as the runner was on 1st. Horrible

Congratulations to STA.

Dutchtown has to be destroyed today. This year was their shot. They're going to lose most of their starters and their 1-2 rotation.

Sulphur's undoing was running their starter back out in the 6th up 5 runs. He was out of gas. Then the reliever was forced into an intense spot where he would've been better off starting the inning.

Nevertheless, hat's off to St. Amant. Their kids battled and their fans brought the energy.

Would love to see a South Terrbonne - North Vermilion final this year. Would be a hell of a matchup.

yea at that point he was at almost 100 pitches already and it was clear he was tired. he was unhittable first 3 innings, got touched a little in the 4th but started really struggling with control in the 5th.

That was Jake Brown who is an LSU commit btw.

Congrats to WM and SA. What does pitching look like tomorrow for both teams. Who will be on the bump?

Dutchtown was up 5-0. You have to win that game. Why would you pitch to Hawsey with a base open in that situation? Terrible coaching.

There wasn't a base open. Plus he was the winning run. Do you really want to intentionally put the winning run on base? The double play was still in effect. Guy just came up with a big hit at the right time.

I feel bad for Dutchtown. I was really wanting them to win, to make it an all AP state championship game. I have lots of respect for Dutchtown’s program. Great coaches, and class acts.

It sure was. I couldn’t believe they rode him that long. You could tell the inning before that he was done.

Dutchtown won't be hurting next year. Dutchtown and STA have so many kids coming up they usually reload. But this team had confidence and a swagger. But that's probably also a product of good coaching so who knows.

Both aces will be available due to being pulled early last night. The only pitcher not available for WM is the freshman Ferguson who went 5 1/3 last night. Only gave up the home run. Simoneaux said Senior Seth Edwards would get the ball to start the game for WM on local radio this morning.

I’d expect to see a lot of guys. No reason to let batters see someone 3 times with the guys available. Who knows though? Might ride a hot arm.

We burned one of our two guys, Moran last night. The other guy who started, Mayers, was pulled in the 2nd inning. I don’t know how many pitches he threw, but it wasn’t a whole lot, so I think we’ll see him at some point tomorrow. He might even start. Moran threw the rest of the game though, and finished with over 100 pitches.

We have Cole Porrier, who has been the number 3 guy this year. He’s a decent pitcher. Brayden Billingsly has been a big go to guy out of the pen, late in games. Brier LeBlanc is a lefty, who can throw hard, but sometimes has issues with command. After that, it’s kind of up in the air. Outside of those 5 guys, we haven’t really had to pitch anyone else in the last month. Our two starters, Mayers and Moran have just been lights out since district started, and we haven’t really needed to go to anyone else.

Sounds like we’re both in the same boat pitching wise then.

STA

Speaking of, I just read the scores from the State Softball Tournament, and they went through that like a hot knife through butter.

I was surprised really to see that they aren't nationally ranked.
