Avg price per square foot in Santa Clara vs Minneapolis? Times the square feet in a stadium. Science.

Mega-construction projects don't exactly mirror COLA.

Ok maybe not $3 bil. But you have to agree with me that jerry's world would be much much much costlier in NorCal.

So the land, contractors Etc are about the same? Do you know about ca construction costs? Cost of property in Santa Clara county? It was a simple example, but it is still a valid point. What do you think the percentage difference in business construction in Santa Clara vs Minneapolis. You can crunch those numbers if that makes you feel better. Science.

It's a big expense... You can argue the need. But it's a shite load more expensive than open air. Yet the newer stadiums are less or equal in cost to one being discussed with them.
I'm not sure where Levis stadium is in regards to fault line, but I'd retract my statement about cost if it cost hundreds of millions extra due to earthquake potential.

so you think this is what LSU's expansion will look like in September?

San Andreas fault......the 1989 earthquake in San Jose I thought we blew 4 tires, then I noticed the streets looked like 10 foot swells.

Bottom line - the stadium is fugly. However, the 49ers were about 50 years behind on design and fan experience with Candlestick. Levi just brings us about 25 years behind. I knew better than to have high expectations given the cost of the location and refusal to pair up with the raiders. Imagine the Giants building a stadium by themselves actually in NY or Miami building a stadium in Miami.

They coulda gone to Fremont with the a's!!'

i think you're being overly pessimistic but time will tell
The Jets came very close to getting their own stadium on the west side of manhattan
frick this option![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/casty.gif)

The stadium incorporates photovoltaic panels, a green roof, excellent public transit access, convenient bicycle parking, walking path access from the San Tomas Creek Trail, water-conserving plumbing fixtures, sophisticated building control systems, recycled materials, and a long list of other sustainable design concepts.
And HERE is where the extra cost comes in.

All I'm saying is if a stadium has less walls, and no roof what are you paying for long term? Internet capabilities and video walls are always evolving. Seems like a very short term investment .

it is symmetric when you divide from east-west rather than north-south

Trust me, I'll take the Matchstick stadium (great name to follow up candlestick) over pairing with the Raiders.
