Who cares? If people keep fouling him, that’s on the defenders. Stop fouling.

It’s more a question of will they allow Indiana to rough him up the way they were allowed to do with Brunson. If he starts getting ticky tak calls that weren’t being called before people are gonna notice it and complain.

The way they call games is so stupid it leaves the door open for this sort of controversy.

Have you watched the NBA lately? Star players draw fouls all the time where the defender barely or doesn't even touch the player.

What’s happened during the playoffs is they’ve allowed grabbing and holding off ball and even allowed a lot of contact while the ball hander is on the perimeter but as soon as they go downhill they call any contact. It’s absurd.

Ok. So your issue is with the league not SGA

The foul baiting arguments

If only there was a way to track how often he gets filled compared to other star players ….
Assuming he wins MVP this year, he will be ranked 27th in free throws attempted for an MVP winner
So it seems he doesn’t do a great job of “foul baiting”

This is one of those arguments like comparing free throw attempts. It has nothing to do with the validity of fouls called.

He is known for foul baiting. He is second in free throw attempts this year at 8.8. Only beind Giannis that does nothing but drive to the basket. Next closest is T Young at like 7.3 attempts a game.
Edit Also, he already won MVP this year.

In many scenarios he is not fouled. Much like Brunson, he is very good at initiating contact with the defender and then embellishes the contact in a very animated way in order to draw the attention of the referee. There is an art to it for sure, but it is being called out online. He is a foul merchant.
The guy is a great player and gets fouled, but he should not be leading the league in free throws as a SG who shoots more mid range jumpers than anyone. But it affects the game because the other teams primary defender gets put in early foul trouble and must leave the game.

Foul baiting and flopping aren’t the same thing

So your issue isn’t with SGA, it’s with the nba

As he’s already explained. Gotcha fail lol

I guess statistically from everything I see his free throw attempts are completely in line with where they should be and in line with every generation of NBA, not just the current one. So I’m not sure how it’s an NBA thing either

That he’s getting phantom calls and I don’t think it’s specific to him, Brunson and Joker have also had a lot of complaints in this way but SGA’s profile in this playoff and being the MVP brings more attention and scrutiny. There’s also the added caveat that OKC gets away with a lot on the defensive end making SGA getting favorable calls more egregious to some fans.
