Having upgrades at these 2 positions is pretty huge, dont you think? Especially with a Hesiman quarterback.

10-2
They had a great season

almighty sec, the greatest conference ever
This is correct.

Georgia's schedule- lol
Bama's schedule- Lol
Yup.

i thought every team in the sec was big time
You are a retard, then. Not even the biggest SEC homers say this. Top 6 SEC teams could beat anyone in the country.
quote:
Before u say a&m would win the big 12 this year , they gave up 57 points to la tach
They would lose 2 possibly 3 games in the big 12
They would win it.
You are a terrible troll and should stop posting. This thread was stupid as frick.

no more so than the SEC fans who say constantly claim any highly ranked team from outside the SEC. The crawfishing in this thread is comically excuse making. 3rd in the west is just a technical designation. They were 6-2 in the SEC and beat the #2 team on the road. They have just as many top 10 wins as Bama and UGA, they just played a tougher schedule. If they got Tennessee instead of Florida, they'd be WEC West Champs.
I don't understand what you're trying to say.
People who say the twelfth best team in the SEC can beat conference champions from the Big 12 or Big 10 are dumb? Well yeah, but I didn't know that bothered you so much.

All of Texas A&M players acquired SEC SPEED by changing conferences. So they don't count as Big 12 players no more.

This.
I think the overall SEC hype is overblown but this troll effort was a D-, at best. Normally an awful attempt, but unfortunately will end up being 10 pages, and successful.

SEC speed is most often a reference to the speed of the D-Line. One of A&M's starting D-Linemen is a true freshman from New Orleans. So yeah, they did get more SEC speed between last year and this one.

Well he does have help with his trolling in the guise of Verlander

I'm confused by all the conflicting arguments going on this board. Was the SEC down this year or did Texas A&M expose them? If the conference as a whole wasn't as good as normal, how can A&M be given credit for exposing anyone. I mean, all they did was play a bunch of teams in disarray.
Its the SEC fans that seem to making the teams in disarray excuse. They didn't expose anything other than the notion that the SEC is this week in week out meat grinder. Some of you are being obtuse if you fail to realize that many said A&M could not compete in the SEC. 10-2 with a win Alabama is competing in the SEC. Saying they finished 3rd in the West is a cheap way to try and diminish what they did.

A few of the posters are either trolling or just tards. Question for you though H Town . Which conference is the best in your opinion?
My opinion is is that it's quite clear. The SEC is the best and that fact shouldn't be called into question just because some SEC fans completely overstate it.

They didn't expose that, they reinforced that.

It's also accurate. They did finish 3rd in the West.

Simply that SEC fans routinely say good teams from other conference could not compete in the SEC. Today, we could thru here and find comments from people questioning whether Notre Dame or Oregon or whoever could compete playing an SEC schedule. Well, A&M coming in shows, that yes, teams from outside the SEC can compete in the SEC. The SEC is great, but not a conference of invincible super teams that many an SEC claims.

It doesn't bother me. I was often blasted for saying A&M could compete long term in the SEC. No one knew about JFF and them doing so well this year is a surprise but I've always thought they could compete at a higher level even in the SEC.

Holy shite this thread is dumb. Of course SEC fans have an over-inflated view of the conference as a whole, you dumbasses act like this is breaking news. You could say this every year even when the sec is clearly the best conference.
How is the SEC exposed because some fans thought a&m would do worse than they did? And if this is the only retarded basis for this discussion, why do yal keep dodging the fact Mizzou took a huge step back like that doesn't belong in the discussion.

Sec conference is the best, I recognize that but to say any other top team that isn't in the sec would lose multiple games if they were in the sec is a joke and a good not great a&m teamproved that.

OP, how about a mid-level Big 12 team called Missouri that went 2-6 in SEC play?

Then I'd agree with you. SEC fans that think that we are a peg below the NFL are crazy.

Only SEC retards think that imo.
SEC is clearly the best conference though.
I would take LSU, Bama, South Carolina, Georgia, and A&M over any team in the country.

SEC is the best because their best are better.
But their bottom is as bad as any bottom.
The SEC is no longer "top to bottom" the toughest conference...they're Top to top the toughest conference.
And this "SEC guantlet" bullshite is a fraud. I've posted their schedules today and OOC games...70% are against joke schools.
Georgia's schedule is a joke...seriously, why should Georgia be ranked ahead of Oregon? The difference between #1 ND and Oregon is the length of a football...see ND/Stanford game...and yet the SEC one loss champ is automatic in the title game?
Alabama played two tough teams and went 1-1.
What bothers people is the fairness and presumption in the selection process because your very best beat another conference's very best....in ONE GAME...in past years.
Everyone COMPLETELY ignores the regular-season conference vs. conference head-to-head records over the past decade and year in and year out and just points to the BCS title game...and has cloudy memories and assumes they have all been blow-outs.
That's the problem with college football. There is far more parity than people want to realize...the SEC bottom-dwellers and mid-level teams aren't anything special.
SEC is the best because of 2-3 teams...not because of the conference as a whole.
