That would be great, but you know damn well its going to be McAfee
They would be complete fools to try and let someone else do it. Should always be Corso's thing IMO, too iconic

He should have retired after 2019. You could tell it was seriously deteriorating, but he was still functioning.

What they allowed him to do these past 5 years is nothing short of tragic in terms of how an entire generation now sees him.

I absolutely loved him on College Gameday for nearly 3 decades of me watching and absorbing college football.

Hope he enjoys retirement. He’s been rough the last 5 years or so

We’ve been spoiled to have him at so many games! College gameday was always at OSU every year I was there. And remember him hyping the students up. Thank you for the memories Corso.

McAfee is going to have the teams logos painted on his chest and stand up on his chair at the end of the show and rip his shirt off showing his pick.

I get that but announcing this now versus in season just makes it seem like it wasn’t necessarily planned to happen right now.

I agree, I wonder if his health has deteriorated even more. Hopefully he's ok and can make one last pick.

His final mascot head he puts on should be Brutus the Buckeye. Go out the way you started

Probably will be. Ohio st vs Texas I would think will be gameday.

Sadly, he'll be dead w/in a year. This is all he lived for.

What are the recent years of ratings for College Gameday?

Seems like in today’s world of NIL, playoffs and transfer portal, not as many people are even watching the show.

Corso was at his best when he had a live animal or a gun during his picks.

I know he declined the last several years, but I'll miss the guy. Hate him or love him, he's been a part of the college football experience as long as I can remember and I'll miss the guy. It was fun to laugh at him, agree with him, disagree with him and when he wanted to be serious, he actually could give some great insight as an ex-coach.

Kind of like when Keith Jackson retired, it took something away from the viewing experience. People and personalities like that never can really be replaced.

The timing of this seems like they were going to try and get one more season and then realized that idea was no longer viable

I don’t think anyone hates him or is happy he’s leaving because they don’t want him up there

It just become abundantly clear he is in no state to be up there and it was honestly just sad to watch him deteriorate at the end of his life, especially because of his legacy and impact on that show.

This is sad. I know most people want him gone but I think him being a part of the show is keeping him alive.

Thank you Coach. You made GameDay a Saturday staple and a national institution.

Enjoy retirement.
