Admire for him for using his son as a prop in his own story?

He didn’t abandon his child and instead raised him to finish school and a high paying job. I’ve been told that is rare in certain demographics

Griffey Sr. played in 51 games in 1990-91 combined

Griffey Sr had an OPS of over .850 in those 51 games. He could still play at the highest level. Bronny should be on a D2 school team.

I don’t care what his OPS was in 51 games over 2 seasons. It was a publicity stunt, just like this.

Are you going to celebrate Bronny if he hits 50% from 3 in 23 games over 2 seasons? I don’t think you are.

Celebrating a player and saying that player has a valid reason to be on the roster are two different things.

Griffey Sr could still make a roster on his own…that’s not true about Bronny. That is the difference.

Could he though? Because he was 40 and terrible when he got cut by the Reds in 1990. More likely he brought in as an attraction to pair with his superstar son.

He got two more rebounds than I would have gotten; he’s in the NBA and I’m not. Wow.

That's a cool thing for Lebron and has to be a special moment, so good for him , but Bronny did not earn a way into the NBA. If he was unrelated to a great player he wouldn't even be on a training camp roster. He'd still be in college riding the pine

I mean…obviously part of his signing was because of Griffey Jr, but someone not named the Mariners would have given him a shot after the Reds cut him. He was a three time all star previously, he wasn’t just some bum. The Braves had cut him before his stint with the Reds so why is it inconceivable that he could have landed somewhere else in 1990 without his son?

I get that the motivations between the two situation are similar, but Bronny and Griffey Sr are not similar man.

Everyone talking about Bronny when we should be asking how did Bron get the infinity stone? Bro had 19 points in 16 minutes, 1’s vs 1’s.

What a joke. Bronny is a total bum and should be nowhere near the NBA

To anyone thinking Bronny should be sent to the G-League, he will also get torched there. This is almost the equivalent of Bow Wow after he lost his powers in Like Mike.
