Omg the 80's were so tough. I can't imagine how a 6'8" 250 lb. man with once in a lifetime athleticism and speed and 7% body fat could ever survive.

The good news is Lebron would get knocked out of the playoffs before the Finals, so we could then think he's an even better player for not being able to win his conference!!!

He'd eventually get frustrated and probably do something stupid to get himself kicked out of the game...thus making it easier for Lebron to continue scoring at the rim.
Kinda hard for Lebron to score when Bill is wearing his face, though. That Bill, sheish!

It's close but Lebron's performance against Dallas in 2011 will always be an albatross around his neck when comparing him to Jordan.

Jordan: 6-0 in finals

Jordan didn't even get to the finals multiple times. Pistons and Magic punked him.

I have watched them both, and Lebron is easily the more complete player. Jordan has the mental edge, though. It's still up in the air. Lebron could be the greatest by the end of his career, but it will be tough.

you have to figure that most of those players would have had much more solid bodies had they had access to today's training/nutrition that didn't exist then.

There were phenomenal players back then. As an example, Dominique Wilkins was a great player. Could go to the rim against anyone yet had a great touch from outside. Would be interesting to see how could he could be with today's training/nutrition.

While the athleticism is definitely better right now I don't see anyone that can come close to playing team ball as good as the Celtics played in the 80's. Their ball movement and passing is as close to perfect as you can get.

As far as comparison no one knows. I personally enjoy watching guys like Lebron and Curry go at it the same as I enjoyed Jordan, Bird, Magic and Drexler go at it then.

I do consider Michael Jordan the greatest of all time, not even close in my opinion. It is all opinion though as there are tons of variables between each generation that make it nearly impossible to compare the greats.

There are a few players that could be great in almost any era. James would still be real good back in the 80's and 90's but would still have to deal with the physical type of play that he would face nightly. It's not even close to how the game is played today.

I really wish people would be realistic with the comparisons of LBJ to MJ. MJ was better at some things, like being "THE MAN" in crunch time, and LBJ is better at somethings, like basically being a swiss army knife on the court and doing it at an extremely high level. I watched MJ's entire career and I'll be the first to say I do not think he could have brought that Cavs team back down 3 to 1 having to win in GS 2 times to do it. MJ had his moments that Lebron will never match. What is clear is that James is in that conversation at the very least. Leading both teams in all 5 major stat categories for the finals is just ridiculous when you really think about it. There wasn't even some pg that could out pass him. I was rooting for Golden St, but you just can't dismiss what Lebron did in these finals.

This is the part that cracks me up the most. There are so many people high on nostalgia that they actually think LeBron, who is built like a goddamn locomotive, couldn't handle physical play.

He could. and he would be a load on defense if you let him be the kind of bruiser they let some guys be back then. It would wear on him over his career though. I do think that Lebron will have a longer career in today's NBA then he would have had back then.

First of all the Chicago teams MJ was on would not be down 3-1 to the Warriors. So that point is mute.

Gotcha. I'm gonna guess you're one of those who thinks a little trash talk will completely screw him up. I'm also gonna guess Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, and Mo Speights thought the same thing after Game 4.
