The Spurs defense tonight was the same defense that Chicago plays on Lebron, and the same defense that Dallas played in the 2011 Finals.

Load the strong side. Live with the Heat taking 3's. Double when Lebron posts up. Switch from man to zone and back, sometimes on the same possession.

Lebron had a great game. Don't get me wrong. But theres a reason that he didn't drive more or wasn't more "aggressive".

He made the right basketball plays, and his teammates in the 4th Q didn't show up.

Exactly..

But sometimes it isnt about the "right basketball plays" sometimes you have to break out of the system and make something happen.

I'm ok with Lebron going down gunning. I'm not ok with the best player in the NBA only shooting the ball 16 times.

If the Heat can't win with Lebron going 18-18-10 then they aren't good enough to win, its that simple.

Lebron goes down gunning the way the Spurs were d'ing him up and with his teammates having several open looks, and Lebron will be crucified.

Hell, hes gonna be crucified tomorrow

The Spurs were playing an all help defense. Normally if your one pass away from the ball your in deny. When LBJ had the ball the 4 Spurs defenders not guarding LBJ had a foot in the paint unless they were guarding Ray Allen. Give credit to the Spurs. Great gameplan. I expect LBJ to come out more aggressive in game 2 and put pressure on the Spurs help from start to finish.

Not entirely correct. Only happened when Bron got into the post. Otherwise, they actually pushed their defense out.

Quite a few possessions tonight for the Spurs defense resulted in either no paint presence for the Heat or a late drive by Chalmers or James trying to bail their offense out.

People say this, but if Lebron starts forcing stuff, and hes missing, then...

Again, its more about Wade, Bosh, and one of Allen/Miller/Battier/Haslem/Cole/Chalmers than it is about Lebron.

The Heat were ahead for most of the game because everyone stepped up. In the 4th Q, they didn't and thats the ball game.

The matchup in this series that will determine the outcome the most of these games is: Duncan vs. Bosh.

So you are predicting a Spurs sweep?

That's exactly what I meant to post.

Also when I say LBJ comes out more aggressive I don't mean forcing up shots. I just mean being in attack mode more even if that results in a kick out 3 point shot.

No... I actually predicted Heat in 6. But if Bosh plays this bad consistently for the rest of the series, the Heat will find themselves in trouble.

EDIT: Something no one is talking about is that the Spurs had FOUR turnovers. The Pacers were a turnover machine in the ECF.

You know the deal...

When LeBron is in attack mode...Good things happen. The shooters will be there.....LeBron's gotta get his 28 to 30+....

If it comes down to Duncan vs Bosh I'm not feeling very good about it. Every time Bosh jacks up a 3 I cringe. That shot is becoming too frequent lately

Lebron can come out aggressive, but he really needs to finish aggressive to OP's point. Dude has to take the game over in the last quarter. When he is on, no one in this league can check him and that includes Kawaii Leonard.

Sometimes I think the game comes to "easy" for him. Dont get me wrong. I enjoy the "team wins" like the last game against the Pacers. But I do miss the Cleveland LeBron approach...well..

Cleveland LeBron approach with Miami LeBron maturity and post game. Dont fire up a bunch of poor long range jumpers (like Cleveland), but have a good number of shot attempts while playing from the post/free throw line extended.

The Spurs were rusty early on imo. I felt if he stayed on the attack through fts or paint points...he could have got 30 points..

INstead he lulled his team to sleep with "playmaker LeBron"

frick that. This is the NBA finals. No way should Duncan AND Parker out score and out shoot LeBron.
