You realize MJ's PER includes his age 39 and 40 seasons with the lowly Wizards?

Most people who don't think MJ is the GOAT fail to realize that Jordan played 82 games in his last season and averaged 20 ppg

He should still finish #2.

Do you know how his career will unfold? Shaq is right there behind him with a 26.43 career PER.

Shaq is over a point behind Lebron. He will have to tank to drop past number 2

Or just have a normal career arch.

A normal career arch won't come remotely close to dropping his career PER one point. Not sure you realize he is already played over 1000 games. To drop it a full point in terms of career PER he will have to tank completely

You realize that through his age 34 season (2006-07), Shaq also had a 27.6 PER? That's 1,000 games. All it took was a quarter of that total to drop it a full point, and that included a 75-game season (longest in that stretch) where Shaq was still a top-5 center with a 22.3 PER.

I would consider the last 3-4 years for Shaq a complete tank. As well as MJs final 2 years with the Wizrds. I dont think Lebron will go out like that. But if he does, then yes he can drop a full point, which I call a complete tank at the end

Shaqs last seasons were awful:

17.7
17.1
16.5
22.3
17.9
17.4

That is a complete tank. I just dont see Lebron playing like that. Most greats dont.

Much of which was offset by

He had a 17 in a 53 and 61 game season. That is a KILLER. Look though, I am fine with Shaq. I have said countless times I think the three most dominant players of their peers are MJ, Lebron, and Shaq. I think Shaq gets absolutely screwed in all time list because he was a pure big man. No clue how he isnt on everyone's top 5

And Shaq is aided by an additional 5 and 70 pounds plus longer arms. That's part of the player. An incredibly large part. Both of them are good because they are genetic freaks.
