Sounds like bad salary negotiating to me. But regarding the NBA and WNBA, they will never be paid the same because the WNBA will never have the viewing demand that the NBA has. If they ever think they will they are sorely mistaken.

Doesn't the NBA basically own and subsidize the WNBA to keep it afloat? I mean there's no way those franchises make money

Hopefully you're joking. They have to earn the same money to get paid the same. A league that nobody really cares about and I highly doubt is profitable is NOT going to pay the same as a very successful league. Thanks for playing though.
