The losing coach in the North Carolina-East Carolina game figured to be on the hottest seat in America. Larry Fedora, you are that man.

The seventh-year Tar Heels coach saw his tenure slide one game closer to a bad ending in a brutal, 41-19 blowout loss to East Carolina. Yes, North Carolina still was down a bunch of players due to NCAA suspensions — but this was an ECU team that was beaten last week by FCS North Carolina A&T and was 6-19 under Scottie Montgomery.

And yet, the Pirates outscored North Carolina 20-0 in the second half to turn this into a rout. It was the Heels’ first loss to a non-Power Five team in four years, and it makes Fedora 3-13 in his last 16 games.

UNC athletic director Bubba Cunningham isn’t the type to have a quick trigger, but he may well be looking at a sea of empty seats when the Heels have their home opener Saturday against Central Florida. If this keeps going south for Fedora, Carolina may have to contemplate an in-season change.

I stuck up for Fedora in last week's thread about him, but I didn't think there was any way he would get dominated by ECU. That's an awful loss, no matter how it's spun.

There were a few rant "experts" calling for him to be hired at LSU before Les was "retained" after the A&M game.

He sounds like someone who thought he'd be moving up by now and mailed in a couple of recruiting classes.

Well O and E are 2-0 with a top 10 win and probably ranked in the top 10 meanwhile he’s 0-2 with a loss to ECU... dumbass

Man it seems like ECU kicks the shite out of a major program from the Carolinas or Virginia every other year.

I don't think Sumlin will be on the hot seat at any point this year. With that being said, they have looked atrocious.

Likely not. Damn hurricane is going to rob us of an OOC game two years in a row. I doubt UNC would agree to play the game @UCF, but I'm sure we'll offer.

Some UNC boosters better be ready to pony up on a $14,000,000 buyout then. The good news is that if they really want to save some money the buyout drops to $10,500,000 after the 2019 season
