Man, this guy had a precipitous fall after being one of the hottest names in CFB.

I'm surprised this is the first HC gig he's taking after UNC. He really only had 2 bad seasons as a HC, they just happened to have been his last 2.

It didn't take much to be an improvement over Les

Me too. Considering how many retread coaches manage to land jobs, it's odd a smaller school didn't take a shot on him.

Baylor's offense sucked with him as OC in Aranda's first year, but I don't know how much of that had to do with the Covid season.

They could have at least gauged Payton's interest, we could have got a couple ones from the Breakers

Interesting

One name is sure to raise eyebrows as the Michigan Panthers hired longtime NFL coach Jeff Fisher.

I think being gone after one season - despite having the built in excuse of Covid - says a lot. I think Aranda was guided in making that hire and quickly regretted afterwards. He then went out on his own and got Jeff Grimes (former BYU OC) and then turned around quickly. Fans quickly turned on Fedora when he said he doesn't watch film and I can't imagine Aranda liked hearing that . I will say that he was likely impacted by Covid to some extent but at the same time the vast improvement of our offense in one season is also a bad look for him.

Well, that’s his daughter in the pic you posted. He’s still married to his first wife (also in the pic).

Is this one of those tax write-off leagues that's going to fold after the first game?
