Really the Lakers are stuck between two bad options.

Option A: A guy who was the best player in the NBA but is more than five years past his prime and paid at an inflated value compared to his present worth

Option B: A guy who is probably the best center in the NBA but is coming off a major injury and has shown zero leadership skills over his last three seasons.

I have been thinking about this the last few days. It sounds retarded, but shite Howard is alot younger than Kobe. Kobe is close to retirement. I would not be surprised to see the Lakers get rid of him.

They may pick Howard over Kobe, but they're still on the hook for $30m to Kobe next season and can't easily get rid of him before then because of his no-trade clause.

Howard to the Rockets.

I'll take him. Houston is the perfect place for him.

A) We have a great young core, most notably James Harden.

B) Houston can be a good basketball city when they win games.

C) Houston is a perfect city attention wise to keep Howard from being a full-on Paris/Perez Hilton-Lindsay Lohaning attention whore, and its still big enough to where he gets a solid amount of attention.

Lakers are shooting to pair up LeBron and DHoward.

That pairing makes no sense on the court, as he ages LeBron is and will be playing closer to the basket thus taking the oh so valuable "post" touches from the alleged best center in basketball.

It does, of course, make sense marketing wise.

Which would you rather have: maybe one more year of Kobe, or at least five more years of Dwight?

yeah Buss JR doesnt care about court chemistry or what makes sense on the court its very apparent with the current roster and the moves he has made

Isnt the Lakers Head Scout Buss JR's best friend who was an ex Hockey Player or Minor League Baseball player?

Its also not just about what he doesn't bring, you also have to factor in the back-stabbing he does as far as always creating a disgruntled atmosphere, making his complaining a bigger headline than the accomplishments of the team (although in every scenario the team blows).

I honestly think the media pushed Howard to LA to begin with. It was obviously a terrible move for Orlando, but the media has ate at the Howard ordeal like a big fat turkey on thanksgiving.

Didn't know Orlando was a basketball town. They started in what? 1990? No championships, history of bad GM's.

Houston is worlds better than Orlando. Not even close IMO.

I guarantee you that if they amnesty Kobe which is what they would have to do he would either sign with the Clippers to play with CP3 or the Knicks to play with Melo

In the giving Dwight attention category, there is no difference whatsoever and Orlando probably brought him more than Houston would.

He would sign with the Bulls. Then the Bulls with Kobe, Rose, Noah, and Deng = ship.

If him and Melo weren't so tight I'd bet money it would be with the Clippers. Won't have to leave LA and he could shite all over Jim Buss by helping the Clippers finally win a championship

do you guys think Kobe would accept a low enough salary for that type of option?

I don't. His huge salary is (and Pau's, and now DH's) is one of the major problems facing the Lakers

If Buss Jr. cut Kobe to keep Howard, you can bet Kobe would PAY to play in the best place possible to continually embarrass him.

If that's the case than the Clippers are most likely.

No moving, great team in the same building. Buss would see it on a near daily basis.

100% disagree, but its cool. Dwight got attention because he's an anomaly in both talent and drama. McGrady got similar attention...

The 79th largest city does not equal the 4th largest city in the US.

If salary were no object the Clippers would be the choice... I just doubt salary would be a non-issue for Kobe.

If he were only about winning he wouldn't have pushed for a salary that made it so hard for the Lakers to build around him at the end of his career. The Lakers are really screwed atm when it comes to cap issues.
