Phoenix is done.
If only we'd had an offense in Game 4.

shite man!
This is getting nasty!
I had a small bet that this game would end 4-0. Paying $350 on $5.
(crossing my fingers)
I do not have a bet on hem scoring more than that.

I'll be awfully shocked if they don't get swept at this point.

Effort and enthusiasm from Jeff Carter? Didn't know he had that in him. Didn't show it for the five months here.

4-0 score paid out $350.

There are no superstars playing for LA, except for maybe Quick (G), and perhaps an argument can be made for Kopitar(F) and Mitchell(D). But every guy on the ice is chasing the puck down and giving no quarter.
On last nights game: Smith should be suspended for that slash on Dustin Brown, and Doan should probably not be for that boarding call.
I have no idea how these guys get back in and play after taking some of the damage they do. That shite was brutal.
Also, GO KINGS!

No votes for doughty? Good game by the Kings

Johnson has worked out great here so far. Good player, better leader. Loves the city and great attitude who knows things need to be turned around. Rare to see here. I think he's also excelling a bit now that he's out of Doughty's shadow and being a Midwestern kid, I think this is a more natural environment for him to both live and play in than LA was. He will probably be named our captain when we trade Nash this offseason. Johnson for Carter alone probably would have been good for us, but getting a first round pick in addition is just icing on the cake.
Carter also seems like he's fitting in well in LA after reuniting with Richards. He seems like a guy that needs a big city (i.e. a Philly or LA, not a Cbus) and to be playing for a winner or he mopes and doesn't work to change things. So I hate his prima donna attitude in that regard but it works when he's in a situation he likes, which he's in now.
I think it was one of those rare trades where both teams won.

The Kings during these playoffs are the best forechecking team I have ever seen

It's pretty awesome to watch. Phoenix was so desperate just to get out of their own zone it was unreal, and when they did manage to break out, they were often exposed to the odd man rush.

Johnson is one of the worst blueliners in the league at playing actually playing defense. Hell, he's worse than Schultz, and ask a Caps fan about him. The trade was highway robbery, and any Kings fan who complained about it is an idiot. A team that can't score trades a third-pairing defenseman for an elite scorer? That trade should've taken less than ten seconds to agree to.
Without that trade, the Kings are golfing. Instead, they are the Cup favorites.

He's not even close to as bad as you're making him out to be, and he brings so much more to the table than his on-ice play anyways. It was a great trade for us, and it was great for L.A. There doesn't have to be a winner or loser in a trade. There can be two winners.

Kings started kicking arse with about 6 weeks left in the season and they haven't let up. They are THE hot team in the playoffs. I used to root for the Kings back when they got Gretsky. Me and a buddy from LSU lived out there and watched all those games while learning hockey. Used to call Luc Robitaille "The Skatin' Coonass". Yea we were drunk most the time.

They were basically a sleeping giant. They've been one of the best young teams in the NHL the past few years. Took them a little while to gel with Richards and then they picked up Carter mid season which was huge. They have all the ingredients. Skilled forwards who can play defense, a tough as nails defense, and stellar goaltending.
